Funamu Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 2 November 2026
This policy applies to everyone who uses Funamu: customers, merchants and their workers, Delivery Partners, PUDO Partners and Funamu workers. It forms part of the Funamu Terms of Service and of every Funamu partner agreement.
1. Use Funamu lawfully and honestly
Do not use Funamu to:
- break the laws of Uganda, or help anyone else break them;
- deceive anyone: false listings, fake reviews, false identities, someone else's account, or false documents;
- take a deal, a payment or a delivery outside Funamu. Messages that try it are blocked;
- harass, threaten, abuse or discriminate against anyone;
- send spam or offers to people who did not agree to them;
- collect other users' personal data, or use it for anything except the order it was shared for;
- break, probe or overload Funamu, get around its security or limits, or use automated tools on it without written permission;
- copy Funamu's software, design, brand or content, or present yourself as Funamu or a Funamu worker.
2. Products that may not be sold
Never list, sell, buy, carry or store through Funamu:
- anything whose sale is illegal in Uganda, or that has been stolen;
- narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, and items made for their use;
- firearms, ammunition, explosives and their parts;
- counterfeit goods, and goods that infringe someone else's trademark, copyright or other rights;
- protected wildlife and wildlife products;
- human remains, organs, blood or body parts;
- medicines that need a prescription or registration, unless Funamu has recorded the merchant's licence and the product is allowed;
- dangerous goods that cannot be carried safely by the Delivery Partners Funamu uses;
- pornographic material, and anything that exploits children.
3. Products that need approval or special handling
Some products can be sold only after Funamu has recorded the merchant's licence or documents, only in some places, or only with special handling (for example, alcohol, tobacco, medicines, agro-chemicals, regulated foods, fragile or heavy goods). The Merchant app shows which rule applies to a product. A listing that needs approval stays hidden until it is approved.
4. Reviews and content
Reviews, photos, videos and messages must be honest, your own and lawful. Do not post anyone else's personal data, or content you have no right to use.
5. What Funamu does when this policy is broken
- A listing that breaks this policy is hidden or removed, with the reason.
- An account may be warned, limited, suspended or closed. Funamu tells the user the reason. A person, not an automated check, decides any restriction beyond a short protective hold.
- The user can explain their side to Funamu Support and ask for the decision to be looked at again.
- Funamu reports crimes to the authorities when the law requires it or when people are at risk.
6. Reporting
Report a listing, a message or a user with Help in the app, or write to info@funamu.com.
