PUDO Partner FAQ

Running a PUDO: receiving parcels, customer collection, earnings and your account.

841 questions in 85 topics.

Delivery network and services9
  • Where does Funamu deliver?

Open the control panel: "Delivery network" lists the active cities with their PUDOs and the inter-city routes between PUDOs. A customer's order is checked against these at checkout.

  • Which delivery services run through my PUDO?

Funamu has one delivery service, Standard. The control panel's "Delivery network" lists the cities, the inter-city routes and the delivery estimates: inter-city deliveries are estimated at 24 to 48 hours. Operations sets these.

  • Can an inter-city parcel be Express or Same-Day?

No. Funamu has one delivery service, Standard. An inter-city delivery is estimated at 24 to 48 hours.

  • How does my scanning affect what the customer sees?

Each intake and dispatch you record becomes a step in the customer's tracking: received at the PUDO, travelling between cities, arrived at the PUDO in their city, ready at the PUDO. Nothing appears that was not recorded.

  • How is the customer's inter-city estimate worked out?

From the merchant's preparation time, the next scheduled departure between the two PUDOs and that schedule's travel hours, then the delivery from the PUDO. Where no departure is scheduled, the customer is shown no estimate.

  • Can I contact a customer about a parcel?

Use the parcel's chat in the Chat tab. The customer's phone number is not shown.

  • Do I see how the customer paid?

No. A PUDO works from the parcel and its handover steps. Payment details are not shown.

  • What happens when a parcel misses its departure?

When a booked parcel was not loaded by its departure time, Funamu records a missed dispatch. The parcel stays at your PUDO (it is not shown as in transit). Open the PUDO: "Missed dispatches and delays" lists it, and you record why with one of the listed reasons (OTHER needs an explanation). Operations books it on the next departure with space, and the estimate shown to the customer is updated then. It shows as in transit only after its departure scan.

  • How do I record a late vehicle?

Open the PUDO: under "Missed dispatches and delays", record a late transport with the departure date, whether the departure or the arrival is late, and the expected lateness in minutes. Add a cause only if you know it; otherwise customers are told that no specific cause has been recorded. The parcels keep their status, their estimates are updated, and customers get a message when the delay is large. Late departures and arrivals are also detected from the timetable and closed by your scans.

Parcels at your PUDO10
  • Where do I see the parcels at my PUDO station?

Open the PUDO: "Parcels here" lists parcels at the PUDO station, held parcels with their reason, parcels ready for collection and inspections waiting, with how long each has been there.

  • What are my PUDO station's hours?

"Parcels here" shows today's customer hours, today's parcel-handling hours and the next inter-city departure, in the PUDO station's own time zone. Operations sets the hours, holidays and temporary closures. A parcel cannot be handed to a customer while the PUDO station is closed to customers.

  • How do I hand over several orders to one customer?

Under "Collect several orders", find one of the customer's orders or tracking numbers. Every parcel of that customer ready at your PUDO station is listed by order. Enter the PIN of each order and press "Hand over". Each order is checked on its own; one wrong PIN does not stop or release another, and a held parcel is not handed over.

  • How do I hold a parcel?

Press "Hold" on the parcel and choose the reason; "Other" needs a description. Some reasons (a security review, a document check) are set only by Funamu Operations. A hold never cancels the order.

  • How do I release a held parcel?

On the held parcel choose "Ready for collection", "Release" or "Return to merchant". A hold placed by Operations, or after an inspection issue, is resolved only by Operations.

  • Can a customer open a parcel before collecting it?

Only when the parcel shows it can be inspected: your PUDO station offers inspection, the merchant allows it and Funamu allows it for that kind of product. Press "Start inspection" with the customer present. They may check the product, variant, quantity and visible damage only. Then record "No issue", or the issue with what was seen and the customer's acknowledgement; the parcel is then held for Operations. You never give a refund at the counter.

  • What does "At PUDO" mean for the customer?

That your intake of the parcel was recorded: the customer sees your PUDO by name. "In transit" is shown only after a recorded departure. Nothing appears that was not recorded.

  • Which parcels here are delayed?

The station page lists "Delayed or overdue here": parcels whose next step (for example leaving the PUDO) is past its expected time. Each shows the reason when Funamu recorded one. Moving the parcel on, with a real scan, clears it.

  • A parcel's tracking is wrong. Can I fix it?

No one edits a tracking record directly. On "Delayed or overdue here" choose "Report a tracking problem" and say what is wrong (location, status, time, missing or repeated step, wrong parcel). Funamu Operations checks it and adds a correction if needed; the original record stays in the history.

  • How do I handle a customer return parcel?

Each return shows its return reference (FMRET-...), linked to the original order, and how it must be handled (for example original packaging required, or photos of the packed item required). Receive and release it as before; never open it to inspect it, the merchant does that.

Gift orders and order numbers2
  • How do I release a gift parcel at a PUDO station?

The parcel shows that it is a gift and who receives it. Release it only to a person who gives the order PIN, the same as any parcel. Who paid and the price are not shown.

  • Which number do I use to find a parcel?

Each parcel has its own tracking number; it also carries the Funamu order number (FM-...) of the order it belongs to. Use the tracking number for scanning and the order number when talking to Funamu Support.

Disputes about parcels1
  • Why does Funamu ask about a parcel that passed through my PUDO station?

When a customer dispute is about a parcel that was at your PUDO, Funamu may ask what your records show. It appears on the PUDO station page under "Funamu needs your input" with the case number and parcel, without customer details. Write what you found and send it; Funamu decides the case.

Customer help requests1
  • Why do I see customer help requests at my PUDO?

When a customer asks for help about a parcel that is at your PUDO (for example collection help, access or where the parcel is), the request appears under "Customer help requests" on that PUDO screen. Record what you did, an access problem or a failed handover, or ask Operations. It never changes the parcel or its status.

PUDO Partner registration and onboarding15
  • How do I register as a PUDO Partner?

Sign in to the PUDO app with your Funamu account and fill in the PUDO form: the PUDO's name, its address or a landmark, the city and ward, its place on the map (your current location or a pin), the kind of place it is, a contact Funamu can verify with a code, your payout account (an MTN or Airtel Mobile Money number) and, if you wish, how many parcels it can hold. Funamu Operations review the application and approve or decline it; the app shows its status.

  • Who can operate a PUDO?

Anyone with a Funamu account (18 or over) who has a fixed, safe place in a city where Funamu works: a merchant, a supermarket, a petrol station, a dedicated parcel point or a similar place, and whose application Funamu Operations approve. Every PUDO does the same work: it receives parcels, stores them, hands them to customers and Delivery Partners, and sends and receives parcels between cities.

  • Can an individual operate a PUDO?

Yes. One person can apply for one PUDO with their own Funamu account. No company is needed.

  • Can a company operate multiple PUDOs?

Yes. A business with 2 to 50 PUDOs applies as a PUDO Company in the PUDO app: the company details, at least one company document and every PUDO with its own address, map location, kind of place and contacts. Funamu Operations approve it in one decision. More PUDOs can be added later from the Company workspace.

  • What information is required during registration?

The PUDO's name, its physical address or a landmark, the city and ward, its location on the map, the kind of place (petrol station, merchant, supermarket, dedicated parcel point, or other with a description), and a contact that you confirm with a code. You also register your payout account, an MTN or Airtel Mobile Money number: Funamu pays you into it. The number of parcels it can hold is optional when you apply. A company also gives its registered name, trading name, company contacts and each PUDO.

  • What documents are required?

Every PUDO Partner adds photos of an identity document and of their face under More > Identity verification: a Ugandan National ID (front and back), or a passport photo page or a refugee ID for non-Ugandans. Funamu Operations review them, and a PUDO cannot be opened for parcels before they are approved. One person applying for one PUDO uploads no other document. A PUDO Company also uploads at least one company document (for example its certificate of registration).

  • How long does onboarding take?

Funamu does not promise a time. Funamu Operations review applications in the order they arrive, and the app shows the status.

  • How do I know if my application was approved?

The PUDO app shows the status of your application when you sign in. When it is approved, the app opens on your PUDO and you can start receiving parcels.

  • What happens if my application is rejected?

You see the reason Funamu Operations chose and their note. Each reason says whether you may correct the application and send it again, appeal, or neither. An appeal is decided by Operations: they reopen the review or keep the rejection.

  • Can I update my registration information?

Yes. Open More > Facility profile to change the PUDO's name, location, capacity, contacts and payout account. A new contact is confirmed with a code, and a change of payout account needs a code sent to your registered email address. Each change is recorded. A company admin changes the company details in the Company workspace.

  • Can I transfer ownership of a PUDO?

Not in the app. A PUDO belongs to the account or company that was approved for it and cannot be sold or lent to someone else in the app. If the business changes hands, close the PUDO (More > Close a PUDO) and tell Funamu Support in Chat: the new owner applies with their own Funamu account and their own identity photos.

  • Can I temporarily deactivate a PUDO?

Yes. On the PUDO screen press "Closed": the PUDO stops taking new parcels until you press "Open". Parcels already there stay and can still be collected and handed over. Only an admin, or a worker allowed to open or pause the facility, can do this. To press "Open", the partner's identity must be approved (More > Identity verification).

  • How do I permanently close a PUDO?

Open More > Close a PUDO. First press "Closed" on the PUDO screen so no new parcels are sent, then hand over or let customers collect every parcel that is there, and request a payout of your balance. The screen lists what is still open and closes the PUDO only when nothing is. A closed PUDO takes no parcels and cannot be switched to Open. The parcel and money records are kept as the law requires, and you can reopen the PUDO yourself for 12 months. Only an admin can close a PUDO.

  • Which locations are supported?

Uganda only, in the cities and wards Funamu Operations have opened. The application lets you choose only those.

  • Can I operate PUDOs in multiple cities?

Yes. A PUDO Company can have PUDOs in any cities Funamu has opened. Each PUDO is registered with its own city and ward.

Business verification14
  • What is business verification?

Funamu Operations review each application: the details you gave, the map location, the contact you confirmed with a code and, for a company, its documents. They also review your identity photos (More > Identity verification) before a PUDO can be opened. This is Funamu's own review, not an official check of a document.

  • Why does the platform require business verification?

Customers and Merchants leave paid goods at a PUDO. Funamu must know who runs it, where it is and how to reach them before parcels are sent there.

  • Which business documents are required?

Every PUDO Partner adds photos of an identity document and of their face under More > Identity verification: a Ugandan National ID (front and back), or a passport photo page or a refugee ID for non-Ugandans. Funamu Operations review them, and a PUDO cannot be opened for parcels before they are approved. One person applying for one PUDO uploads no other document. A PUDO Company also uploads at least one company document (for example its certificate of registration).

  • Which identity documents are required?

A Ugandan National ID (front and back). If you are not Ugandan: your passport photo page, or a refugee ID issued in Uganda (front and back). Always with a clear photo of your face. Add them under More > Identity verification. The photos are stored privately and Funamu does not store the ID number.

  • Can an individual register without a company?

Yes. One person can apply for one PUDO with their own Funamu account. No company is needed.

  • Can a company register multiple PUDOs?

Yes. A business with 2 to 50 PUDOs applies as a PUDO Company in the PUDO app: the company details, at least one company document and every PUDO with its own address, map location, kind of place and contacts. Funamu Operations approve it in one decision. More PUDOs can be added later from the Company workspace.

  • How is business ownership verified?

From the company document you upload and the details of the company on the application, reviewed by Funamu Operations. The application belongs to the Funamu account that sent it, and that account becomes the company admin.

  • How is the authorized representative verified?

The person applying is signed in to their own Funamu account, which is verified by email, confirms the business contact with a code, and sends photos of their identity document and face (More > Identity verification) for Funamu Operations to review. That account is the admin of the PUDO or company.

  • How long does verification take?

Funamu does not promise a time. Funamu Operations review applications in the order they arrive, and the app shows the status.

  • What happens if verification fails?

You see the reason Funamu Operations chose and their note. Each reason says whether you may correct the application and send it again, appeal, or neither. An appeal is decided by Operations: they reopen the review or keep the rejection.

  • Can I resubmit rejected documents?

Yes, when the rejection reason allows it: correct the application, upload the right document and send it again. The reason shown says whether you may resubmit or appeal.

  • What happens when a business document expires?

Funamu does not ask you to verify again on a schedule, and nothing expires in the app. Keep More > Facility profile up to date; Funamu Operations can ask for information again and can suspend a PUDO whose details are wrong.

  • How do I update business information?

Yes. Open More > Facility profile to change the PUDO's name, location, capacity, contacts and payout account. A new contact is confirmed with a code, and a change of payout account needs a code sent to your registered email address. Each change is recorded. A company admin changes the company details in the Company workspace.

  • Can ownership information be changed?

Not in the app. A PUDO belongs to the account or company that was approved for it and cannot be sold or lent to someone else in the app. If the business changes hands, close the PUDO (More > Close a PUDO) and tell Funamu Support in Chat: the new owner applies with their own Funamu account and their own identity photos.

PUDO capacity9
  • How is PUDO capacity calculated?

Capacity is the number of parcels you say the PUDO can hold. It is one whole number: it is not worked out by Funamu and it does not differ by parcel type, size or weight.

  • How many packages can my PUDO hold?

The PUDO screen shows it: the capacity you gave, how many parcels are stored, how many are on their way and how many places are free. Change the capacity in More > Facility profile.

  • Can I increase facility capacity?

Open More > Facility profile and change the capacity. The change is recorded.

  • What happens when my PUDO reaches capacity?

When the parcels stored at your PUDO plus those already on their way reach the capacity you gave, customers are no longer offered your PUDO as a PUDO, and Delivery Partners cannot propose it for a reroute, until parcels leave. Parcels already on their way still arrive. If you gave no capacity, Funamu never treats the PUDO as full. You can also press "Closed" at any time.

  • Can the platform stop assigning shipments when capacity is full?

  • Can customers see PUDO operating hours?

Yes. Customers see the opening hours of a PUDO on their order and are told when it is closed. Merchants and Delivery Partners are not shown a timetable in their apps; a hand-over simply needs someone at the PUDO to accept it.

  • Can merchants see PUDO operating hours?

No. Customers see the opening hours of a PUDO on their order and are told when it is closed. Merchants and Delivery Partners are not shown a timetable in their apps; a hand-over simply needs someone at the PUDO to accept it.

  • What happens if a customer arrives after closing?

A parcel cannot be handed to a customer while the PUDO is closed to customers: the app refuses the collection. The person comes back in the opening hours. A Delivery Partner who cannot hand over keeps the parcel and Funamu Operations decide the next step.

  • Can I temporarily close the PUDO?

Yes. On the PUDO screen press "Closed": the PUDO stops taking new parcels until you press "Open". Parcels already there stay and can still be collected and handed over. • How do I report an unexpected closure?

Press "Closed" on the PUDO screen at once, then message Funamu Support in Chat with the reason and when you expect to open. Operations record a temporary closure, so customers are told and estimates are updated.

  • Can the platform prevent assignments outside operating hours?

Collections are refused outside customer hours. Funamu's delivery services use the hours and cutoffs Operations set, and customer estimates take the PUDO's hours and closures into account.

  • What are my PUDO's operating hours?

Open the PUDO: "Parcels here" shows today's customer hours, today's parcel-handling hours and the next inter-city departure, in the PUDO's own time zone.

  • What happens if an inter-city vehicle arrives after closing?

The bag cannot be received until someone at the PUDO receives it with its seal code, so the driver stays responsible for it. Record the late arrival under "Missed dispatches and delays"; Funamu Operations decide whether the driver waits or comes back.

  • Can I temporarily close the PUDO?

Yes. On the PUDO screen press "Closed": the PUDO stops taking new parcels until you press "Open". Parcels already there stay and can still be collected and handed over. Yes, by Funamu Operations. They can restrict deliveries through a PUDO and change the route of parcels with a reason. It does not happen automatically.

Receiving parcels15
  • How do I receive a package at the PUDO?

Open the location > Counter > Hand-overs. The Delivery Partner starts the hand-over in their app; you check each parcel against the list and mark it Received, or Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel, then show your 4-digit PIN and read it to them. They enter it in their app, and only then do the parcels you marked Received become yours. Searching the order number only finds a parcel; it never takes a parcel in. No scanner is needed.

  • Who can drop packages at the PUDO?

Delivery Partners carrying parcels on Funamu deliveries, and Merchants dropping off parcels for an order between cities that starts at your PUDO. Customers bring parcels only for a return Funamu has approved.

  • Can merchants drop packages at the PUDO?

Yes, for an order between cities whose route starts at your PUDO. It appears under "Merchant drop-offs" on the PUDO screen. The Merchant shows the 6-digit drop-off code of the order; enter it (or pick the drop-off from the list), check the parcel and press "Check and show PIN"; the Merchant enters your PIN in their app. You can also refuse the parcel with a reason.

  • Can delivery partners drop packages at the PUDO?

Yes. That is the main way parcels arrive: Open the location > Counter > Hand-overs.

  • Can customers return packages to the PUDO?

The customer asks for the return in their Funamu app. When it is approved, the return appears under "Returns" on your PUDO screen with its return reference (FMRET-...). The customer brings the parcel; you receive it there.

  • How do I verify an incoming package?

Check the tracking number and order number on the label against the list on your screen, count the parcels, and look at the packaging: closed, not torn, not wet, not leaking. Receive only what matches.

  • How do I scan an incoming package?

You do not need a scanner, camera scanning, barcodes or QR codes. Find any parcel by typing the order number the customer sees in "Search by order number" (the last 3 or more characters are enough). Type a bag's seal number and a Merchant's 6-digit drop-off code.

  • How do I confirm package receipt?

Mark the parcel "Received" in the hand-over and show your PIN; the Delivery Partner enters it in their app. For a Merchant drop-off press "Check and show PIN" and the Merchant enters it. Receipt is recorded only when the server accepts that PIN.

  • What information should I verify?

Check the tracking number and order number on the label against the list on your screen, count the parcels, and look at the packaging: closed, not torn, not wet, not leaking. Receive only what matches.

  • What happens if the package is not found in the system?

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told.

  • What happens if the package is already marked received?

Nothing is recorded twice. The app tells you the parcel was already received and keeps the first record.

  • What happens if the package is damaged on arrival?

Mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over instead of "Received". It stays the responsibility of the person who brought it, and Funamu Operations are told and decide. If you find damage after receiving, press "Report damaged" on the parcel.

  • What happens if the package is missing from the manifest?

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told.

  • Can I refuse a package?

Yes. In a hand-over, mark the parcel Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel instead of Received. For a Merchant drop-off, refuse it with a reason: not closed, damaged, too big or heavy, restricted item, or wrong label. The refusal and its reason are recorded and the parcel stays with the person who brought it.

  • How do I record a rejected package?

Storing parcels10
  • How are packages stored at the PUDO?

Keep parcels in a locked, dry place that only your staff can reach, off the floor and away from the counter. Give each parcel a bin (a shelf or box code) when you receive it, so anyone can find it.

  • How long can a package remain at the PUDO?

A customer has 7 free calendar days to collect, counted from the day they are told the parcel is ready, in the PUDO's local time. Collection is free and needs the customer's PIN. The customer gets one reminder every day at 7 am. After day 7 the parcel is expired for collection and goes back to the Merchant; there is no extension and no storage fee.

  • How do I know which packages are waiting?

Open the PUDO: "Parcels here" lists parcels at the PUDO, held parcels with their reason, parcels ready for collection and inspections waiting, with how long each has been there. The Orders tab lists the same work across your PUDOs.

  • How do I locate a package?

Search the tracking number or order number in "Parcels here" or in the Orders tab: the parcel shows its bin and status. If it is not in that bin, check the bins near it and the outbound shelf, then report it.

  • How are packages organized?

By bin. Give each parcel a bin code when you receive it; a simple scheme works best, for example one shelf per day or per first letter of the tracking number.

  • Can I scan packages into storage locations?

Yes. Enter a bin code when you receive the parcel, or open "Stored parcels" and use "Move to another bin". The bin is shown wherever the parcel is listed.

  • Can I assign a storage location to a package?

Yes. Enter a bin code when you receive the parcel, or open "Stored parcels" and use "Move to another bin". The bin is shown wherever the parcel is listed.

  • What happens when storage capacity is full?

When the parcels stored at your PUDO plus those already on their way reach the capacity you gave, customers are no longer offered your PUDO as a PUDO, and Delivery Partners cannot propose it for a reroute, until parcels leave. Parcels already on their way still arrive. If you gave no capacity, Funamu never treats the PUDO as full. You can also press "Closed" at any time.

  • What happens if a package remains uncollected?

After the 7 free days the parcel is expired for collection and sent back to the Merchant at once: it appears in your PUDO work list, and you hand it to the Delivery Partner assigned to the return. The customer can no longer collect it. The customer is refunded the price of the item minus the refund transaction cost; there is no storage fee. Your PUDO keeps its Handling Fee for the handling it did.

  • How do I report a package that cannot be located?

Press "Report missing" on the parcel. Funamu Operations are told at once and investigate from the hand-over and scan records. Do not mark any other parcel in its place.

Releasing parcels to customers13
  • How do I release a package to a customer?

Open the location > Counter, search the order number in "Search by order number" (or find the parcel under "Waiting for the customer"), press "Verify pickup" and type the customer's 4-digit PIN. Hand the parcel over only after the app confirms it. For several orders of one customer, verify each order with its own PIN.

  • How do I verify the customer?

The 4-digit order PIN is the proof. Funamu does not ask you to check an identity card, take a signature or take a photo. Whoever gives the right PIN for that order receives the parcel.

  • Is an OTP required?

Yes. Every collection needs the customer's 4-digit order PIN. The app does not let you release a parcel without it.

  • Is an ID required?

No. Funamu does not ask for it. The order PIN is the only proof you need.

  • Is a signature required?

No. Funamu does not ask for it. The order PIN is the only proof you need.

  • Is a photo required?

No. Funamu does not ask for it. The order PIN is the only proof you need.

  • What happens if the customer has no OTP?

Do not hand over the parcel. Ask the customer to open the order in their Funamu app, where the PIN is shown. After 5 wrong PINs in a row the order is blocked and Funamu Operations step in. If the customer cannot get the PIN, they ask Funamu Support in their app; you never release on a name, a phone number or an ID alone.

  • What happens if the customer's information does not match?

You do not compare names or phone numbers; you are not shown them. If the PIN is wrong the app refuses the collection.

  • Can someone collect a package on behalf of the customer?

Yes. The customer gives the order PIN to the person they send. Anyone who gives the right PIN for that order may collect; you do not need to know who they are.

  • How is authorized collection verified?

The 4-digit order PIN is the proof. Funamu does not ask you to check an identity card, take a signature or take a photo. Whoever gives the right PIN for that order receives the parcel.

  • How do I confirm package release?

Open the location > Counter, search the order number in "Search by order number" (or find the parcel under "Waiting for the customer"), press "Verify pickup" and type the customer's 4-digit PIN. Hand the parcel over only after the app confirms it. For several orders of one customer, verify each order with its own PIN.

  • What happens if the wrong package is selected?

The PIN belongs to one order, so a PIN entered against the wrong order is refused and nothing is released. Check the order number on the parcel before you hand it over. If a wrong parcel was physically handed over, message Funamu Support in Chat at once with both order numbers.

  • Can a released package be returned to the PUDO?

Only as a return. The customer asks for a return in their Funamu app; if it is approved, the parcel comes back with a return reference (FMRET-...) and you receive it under "Returns".

Customer collection9
  • How does customer pickup work?

The customer chooses your PUDO at checkout and pays in the app. When you receive the parcel they are told it is ready. They come in your opening hours and give the 4-digit order PIN; you enter it and hand over the parcel.

  • How does a customer know their package is ready?

When you receive the parcel at its last stop, Funamu sends the customer a message that it is ready, with your PUDO's name and their PIN in the app. They then get one reminder a day.

  • How do I verify that a package belongs to the customer?

The 4-digit order PIN is the proof. Funamu does not ask you to check an identity card, take a signature or take a photo. Whoever gives the right PIN for that order receives the parcel.

  • How long can a package wait for customer pickup?

A customer has 7 free calendar days to collect, counted from the day they are told the parcel is ready, in the PUDO's local time. Collection is free and needs the customer's PIN. The customer gets one reminder every day at 7 am. After day 7 the parcel is expired for collection and goes back to the Merchant; there is no extension and no storage fee.

  • What happens if the customer does not collect the package?

After the 7 free days the parcel is expired for collection and sent back to the Merchant at once: it appears in your PUDO work list, and you hand it to the Delivery Partner assigned to the return. The customer can no longer collect it. The customer is refunded the price of the item minus the refund transaction cost; there is no storage fee. Your PUDO keeps its Handling Fee for the handling it did.

  • Can the customer request another pickup date?

The customer can come on any day within the 7 free days, in your opening hours. No booking is needed and there is no extension after that.

  • Can someone else collect the package?

Yes. The customer gives the order PIN to the person they send. Anyone who gives the right PIN for that order may collect; you do not need to know who they are.

  • How do I record a failed pickup?

Nothing is recorded when a customer simply does not come. If they came and you could not hand over (wrong PIN, PUDO closed, parcel held), the app refuses the collection and keeps the reason. For a customer help request about the parcel, record what happened under "Customer help requests".

  • How do I handle an unclaimed package?

After the 7 free days the parcel is expired for collection and sent back to the Merchant at once: it appears in your PUDO work list, and you hand it to the Delivery Partner assigned to the return. The customer can no longer collect it. The customer is refunded the price of the item minus the refund transaction cost; there is no storage fee. Your PUDO keeps its Handling Fee for the handling it did.

Parcel drop-off10
  • How does package drop-off work?

Yes, for an order between cities whose route starts at your PUDO. It appears under "Merchant drop-offs" on the PUDO screen. The Merchant shows the 6-digit drop-off code of the order; enter it (or pick the drop-off from the list), check the parcel and press "Check and show PIN"; the Merchant enters your PIN in their app. You can also refuse the parcel with a reason.

  • Who can drop a package at the PUDO?

Delivery Partners carrying parcels on Funamu deliveries, and Merchants dropping off parcels for an order between cities that starts at your PUDO. Customers bring parcels only for a return Funamu has approved.

  • How do I verify the sender?

A Merchant is verified by the 6-digit drop-off code of the order: only an open drop-off at your PUDO accepts it. A Delivery Partner is verified by the hand-over in the app.

  • How do I verify the package?

Check the tracking number and order number on the label against the list on your screen, count the parcels, and look at the packaging: closed, not torn, not wet, not leaking. Receive only what matches.

  • How do I generate or verify a shipment label?

Funamu creates the tracking number and the reference code of every parcel; the Merchant labels the parcel. You do not create labels. You check the label against your screen.

  • How do I confirm drop-off?

Enter the drop-off code the Merchant shows (or pick the drop-off from the list), check the parcel and press "Check and show PIN". The Merchant enters your PIN in their app, which confirms the drop-off.

  • What happens if the package information is incorrect?

Do not receive it. Mark it "Wrong parcel" in the hand-over, or refuse the drop-off with "Wrong label". Funamu Operations and the Merchant are told.

  • What happens if the package is damaged at drop-off?

Refuse it with the reason "Damaged". It stays with the Merchant, who repacks or replaces it.

  • Can a package be rejected at drop-off?

  • How do I record a rejected drop-off?

Merchants at your PUDO9
  • How do merchants send packages to my PUDO?

Either a Delivery Partner collects from the merchant and brings the parcel to you, or, for an order between cities that starts at your PUDO, the Merchant drops it off with the order's drop-off code.

  • How do I receive merchant shipments?

Yes, for an order between cities whose route starts at your PUDO. It appears under "Merchant drop-offs" on the PUDO screen. The Merchant shows the 6-digit drop-off code of the order; enter it (or pick the drop-off from the list), check the parcel and press "Check and show PIN"; the Merchant enters your PIN in their app. You can also refuse the parcel with a reason.

  • How do I verify merchant shipments?

Check the tracking number and order number on the label against the list on your screen, count the parcels, and look at the packaging: closed, not torn, not wet, not leaking. Receive only what matches.

  • Can merchants view PUDO inventory?

No. A Merchant sees the tracking of their own orders in the Merchant app, including "At PUDO" with your PUDO's name. They do not see your other parcels, your stock or your staff.

  • Can merchants track packages at my PUDO?

A Merchant sees the tracking of their own orders in the Merchant app, including "At PUDO" with your PUDO's name. They do not see your other parcels, your stock or your staff.

  • What happens if a merchant sends the wrong package?

Do not receive it. Mark it "Wrong parcel" in the hand-over, or refuse the drop-off with "Wrong label". Funamu Operations and the Merchant are told.

  • What happens if a merchant sends an unregistered package?

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told.

  • What happens if a merchant sends a damaged package?

Mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over instead of "Received". It stays the responsibility of the person who brought it, and Funamu Operations are told and decide. If you find damage after receiving, press "Report damaged" on the parcel.

  • How do I report a merchant shipment problem?

Refuse the parcel with the reason, or mark it Damaged or Wrong parcel in the hand-over. Funamu Operations and the Merchant are told. For anything else, message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number.

Delivery Partners at your PUDO11
  • How do delivery partners collect packages from my PUDO?

Open the PUDO > Hand-overs and start a hand-over to the Delivery Partner. The app lists only the parcels waiting to leave that are assigned to that Delivery Partner. They accept each parcel on their own phone; the parcel leaves your responsibility only when they accept it.

  • How do I verify a delivery partner?

The app does it. Only a Delivery Partner signed in to their own account and assigned to those parcels can be chosen, and only they can accept. Never hand a parcel to someone who is not shown in the hand-over.

  • How do I verify a delivery assignment?

The app does it. Only a Delivery Partner signed in to their own account and assigned to those parcels can be chosen, and only they can accept. Never hand a parcel to someone who is not shown in the hand-over.

  • How do I hand over a package to a delivery partner?

Open the PUDO > Hand-overs and start a hand-over to the Delivery Partner. The app lists only the parcels waiting to leave that are assigned to that Delivery Partner. They accept each parcel on their own phone; the parcel leaves your responsibility only when they accept it.

  • How do I confirm handover?

You do not confirm it; the receiver does. The hand-over is complete for each parcel when the Delivery Partner marks it Received on their phone.

  • What information should I record during handover?

Nothing by hand. The hand-over records who gave, who received, each parcel, each decision (Received, Missing, Damaged, Wrong parcel) and the time.

  • What happens if the delivery partner's assignment does not match?

Do not hand over. A Delivery Partner who is not assigned to a parcel is not offered it in the hand-over. Ask them to check their Delivery Partners app; if the assignment is wrong, message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • What happens if the delivery partner refuses the package?

They mark it Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel on their phone. The parcel stays in your responsibility and Funamu Operations are told and decide.

  • What happens if the delivery partner arrives without an assignment?

Do not hand over. A Delivery Partner who is not assigned to a parcel is not offered it in the hand-over. Ask them to check their Delivery Partners app; if the assignment is wrong, message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • What happens if a delivery partner reports package damage?

They mark it Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel on their phone. The parcel stays in your responsibility and Funamu Operations are told and decide.

  • Can a delivery partner collect multiple packages?

Yes. One hand-over can hold many parcels; each parcel is accepted or refused on its own.

Inbound parcels and bags11
  • How do shipments arrive at the PUDO?

Parcels arrive with a Delivery Partner (from a Merchant, or from another PUDO in a sealed bag) or are dropped off by the Merchant. The PUDO screen shows them under "Inbound" before they arrive.

  • Who can deliver shipments to the PUDO?

Delivery Partners carrying parcels on Funamu deliveries, and Merchants dropping off parcels for an order between cities that starts at your PUDO. Customers bring parcels only for a return Funamu has approved.

  • How do I receive an inbound shipment?

Open the location > Counter > Hand-overs. The Delivery Partner starts the hand-over in their app; you check each parcel against the list and mark it Received, or Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel, then show your 4-digit PIN and read it to them. They enter it in their app, and only then do the parcels you marked Received become yours. Searching the order number only finds a parcel; it never takes a parcel in. No scanner is needed. A sealed bag from another PUDO is received in Bags with its seal code.

  • How do I verify the incoming manifest?

Open the PUDO > Bags, find the arriving bag, and enter or scan the seal code on the bag. If the seal matches, the app shows your PIN ("Check seal and show PIN"); read it to the driver, who enters it in their app, and then each parcel in the bag is checked in. If it does not match, the app refuses the bag, marks it "seal rejected" and tells Funamu Operations.

  • How do I scan inbound packages?

You do not need a scanner, camera scanning, barcodes or QR codes. Find any parcel by typing the order number the customer sees in "Search by order number" (the last 3 or more characters are enough). Type a bag's seal number and a Merchant's 6-digit drop-off code. Up to 200 parcels can be received in one batch; each is checked on its own, so one wrong code does not stop the rest.

  • How do I confirm shipment receipt?

Mark the parcel "Received" in the hand-over and show your PIN; the Delivery Partner enters it in their app. For a Merchant drop-off press "Check and show PIN" and the Merchant enters it. Receipt is recorded only when the server accepts that PIN.

  • What happens if the manifest does not match the packages?

Mark each parcel as it is: Received for what is there, Missing for what is not, Wrong parcel for what does not belong, Damaged for what is damaged. Missing, Damaged and Wrong parcel never become your responsibility; each one is sent to Funamu Operations, who decide. You see them under exceptions in the Company workspace.

  • What happens if packages are missing?

Mark each parcel as it is: Received for what is there, Missing for what is not, Wrong parcel for what does not belong, Damaged for what is damaged. Missing, Damaged and Wrong parcel never become your responsibility; each one is sent to Funamu Operations, who decide. You see them under exceptions in the Company workspace.

  • What happens if extra packages arrive?

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told.

  • What happens if packages are damaged?

Mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over instead of "Received". It stays the responsibility of the person who brought it, and Funamu Operations are told and decide. If you find damage after receiving, press "Report damaged" on the parcel.

  • How do I record inbound discrepancies?

Mark each parcel as it is: Received for what is there, Missing for what is not, Wrong parcel for what does not belong, Damaged for what is damaged. Missing, Damaged and Wrong parcel never become your responsibility; each one is sent to Funamu Operations, who decide. You see them under exceptions in the Company workspace.

Sorting9
  • How are packages sorted at the PUDO?

On the PUDO screen each outbound parcel shows where it goes next. Use the buttons on the parcel: "sorted" when you have put it with the others for that destination, "held" to keep it back, "dispatched" when it leaves. Then put parcels for the same PUDO into one bag.

  • How do I identify the destination PUDO?

Each outbound parcel on the PUDO screen shows its next stop. For a parcel going to another city that is the destination PUDO, by name.

  • Can the platform automatically determine package routing?

Yes. Funamu sets the route of every parcel when the order is placed: which PUDO it starts from, which PUDO it goes to and how it reaches the customer. The parcel's next stop is shown on your screen; you do not choose it.

  • How do I handle packages without routing information?

Do not send it anywhere. Keep it, press "held" on the parcel if it is listed, and message Funamu Support in Chat with the tracking number. A parcel that is not on your list is not yours to move.

  • What happens if a package is misrouted?

A parcel that arrived at a PUDO it was not planned for. In a hand-over, mark it "Wrong parcel" and do not receive it. If you already hold it, use "Report a tracking problem" on the parcel and message Funamu Support in Chat. Funamu Operations decide the new route; you never redirect a parcel yourself.

  • How do I correct a routing error?

A parcel that arrived at a PUDO it was not planned for. In a hand-over, mark it "Wrong parcel" and do not receive it. If you already hold it, use "Report a tracking problem" on the parcel and message Funamu Support in Chat. Funamu Operations decide the new route; you never redirect a parcel yourself.

  • Can packages be sorted by city?

Parcels are grouped by their next stop: the destination PUDO for parcels going to another city, or the Delivery Partner assigned to take them. The app has no separate sorting by route.

  • Can packages be sorted by route?

Parcels are grouped by their next stop: the destination PUDO for parcels going to another city, or the Delivery Partner assigned to take them. The app has no separate sorting by route.

  • Can packages be sorted by delivery partner?

Parcels are grouped by their next stop: the destination PUDO for parcels going to another city, or the Delivery Partner assigned to take them. The app has no separate sorting by route.

Bags (consolidation)9
  • What is shipment consolidation?

Putting the parcels that leave your PUDO for the same PUDO into one sealed bag, so they travel and are handed over as one. Each parcel keeps its own tracking number and its own record.

  • Can multiple packages be consolidated into one transport movement?

Yes. Putting the parcels that leave your PUDO for the same PUDO into one sealed bag, so they travel and are handed over as one. Each parcel keeps its own tracking number and its own record.

  • How are consolidated shipments tracked?

The bag has a manifest code and a seal code. Each parcel inside keeps its own tracking, so the customer sees their own parcel move when the bag is released and received.

  • How do I create a consolidated shipment?

Open the PUDO > Bags, open a new bag for the destination PUDO, and add parcels by scanning them with the camera or entering their code. Only parcels waiting to leave your PUDO for that destination can be added.

  • How do I verify packages in a consolidated shipment?

The bag's manifest lists every parcel in it with the count and the total weight. Check the parcels against it before sealing; you can download the manifest as a PDF.

  • How do I create a manifest for consolidated shipments?

The manifest is made by the app from the parcels you add to the bag. Download it as a PDF from the bag.

  • What happens if one package is missing?

Before sealing, remove the parcel from the bag and press "Report missing" on it. After the bag is sealed nothing can be changed: the receiving PUDO records it as missing when the bag is opened, and Funamu Operations investigate.

  • What happens if one package is damaged?

Before sealing, remove it from the bag and press "Report damaged". Funamu Operations decide whether it travels.

  • How do I break down a consolidated shipment?

The receiving PUDO receives the bag with its seal code. Each parcel in it is then checked in on its own and appears in that PUDO's list, ready to be stored, handed to a Delivery Partner or collected.

Opening bags (deconsolidation)8
  • What is shipment deconsolidation?

Opening a bag at the PUDO it was sent to, so each parcel goes on by itself. The receiving PUDO receives the bag with its seal code. Each parcel in it is then checked in on its own and appears in that PUDO's list, ready to be stored, handed to a Delivery Partner or collected.

  • When are shipments deconsolidated?

When the bag is received at the destination PUDO. Receiving the bag with the right seal code checks in every parcel in it.

  • How do I deconsolidate a shipment?

Open the PUDO > Bags, find the arriving bag, and enter or scan the seal code on the bag. If the seal matches, the app shows your PIN ("Check seal and show PIN"); read it to the driver, who enters it in their app, and then each parcel in the bag is checked in. If it does not match, the app refuses the bag, marks it "seal rejected" and tells Funamu Operations.

  • How do I verify individual packages?

After the bag is received, check each parcel against the bag's manifest. Report any that is not there with "Report missing" and any that is damaged with "Report damaged".

  • How do I assign packages to destinations?

You do not. Yes. Funamu sets the route of every parcel when the order is placed: which PUDO it starts from, which PUDO it goes to and how it reaches the customer. The parcel's next stop is shown on your screen; you do not choose it.

  • How do I record deconsolidation?

Receiving the bag with its seal code is the record. Nothing else is entered.

  • What happens if a package is missing?

Press "Report missing" on that parcel. Funamu Operations investigate from the bag's manifest and the seal checks at each hand-over.

  • What happens if a package does not belong to the shipment?

Keep it aside, do not send it on, and message Funamu Support in Chat with its tracking number. Funamu Operations decide its route.

Storage at the PUDO8
  • How are shipments stored at the PUDO?

Keep parcels in a locked, dry place that only your staff can reach, off the floor and away from the counter. Give each parcel a bin (a shelf or box code) when you receive it, so anyone can find it.

  • How do I locate a package?

Search the tracking number or order number in "Parcels here" or in the Orders tab: the parcel shows its bin and status. If it is not in that bin, check the bins near it and the outbound shelf, then report it.

  • How do I assign packages to storage areas?

Yes. Enter a bin code when you receive the parcel, or open "Stored parcels" and use "Move to another bin". The bin is shown wherever the parcel is listed.

  • How long can a shipment remain at the PUDO?

"Stored parcels" shows how long each parcel has waited. A parcel waiting for its customer has 7 free days, then it goes back to the Merchant. There are no storage fees.

  • What happens when PUDO storage reaches capacity?

When the parcels stored at your PUDO plus those already on their way reach the capacity you gave, customers are no longer offered your PUDO as a PUDO, and Delivery Partners cannot propose it for a reroute, until parcels leave. Parcels already on their way still arrive. If you gave no capacity, Funamu never treats the PUDO as full. You can also press "Closed" at any time.

  • How do I identify delayed shipments?

The PUDO screen lists "Delayed or overdue here": parcels whose next step is past its expected time, with the reason when one was recorded. "Stored parcels" shows how long every parcel has waited.

  • How do I identify unprocessed shipments?

The PUDO screen shows "Inbound" (on the way), "Held here" and "Outbound" (waiting to leave). The Orders tab lists the parcels that need your next action.

  • What happens to unclaimed or undeliverable packages?

After the 7 free days the parcel is expired for collection and sent back to the Merchant at once: it appears in your PUDO work list, and you hand it to the Delivery Partner assigned to the return. The customer can no longer collect it. The customer is refunded the price of the item minus the refund transaction cost; there is no storage fee. Your PUDO keeps its Handling Fee for the handling it did. A parcel that could not be delivered is decided by Funamu Operations: another attempt, collection at a PUDO, or return to the Merchant.

Manifests12
  • What is a manifest?

The list of parcels in one sealed bag travelling from one PUDO to another: the manifest code, each parcel, the count and the total weight.

  • How do I create a manifest?

Open the PUDO > Bags, open a new bag for the destination PUDO, and add parcels by scanning them with the camera or entering their code. Only parcels waiting to leave your PUDO for that destination can be added. The manifest is made by the app from the parcels you add to the bag. Download it as a PDF from the bag.

  • How do I receive a manifest?

Open the PUDO > Bags, find the arriving bag, and enter or scan the seal code on the bag. If the seal matches, the app shows your PIN ("Check seal and show PIN"); read it to the driver, who enters it in their app, and then each parcel in the bag is checked in. If it does not match, the app refuses the bag, marks it "seal rejected" and tells Funamu Operations.

  • How do I verify a manifest?

The bag's manifest lists every parcel in it with the count and the total weight. Check the parcels against it before sealing; you can download the manifest as a PDF.

  • What information appears on a manifest?

The manifest code, the PUDO it leaves and the PUDO it goes to, each parcel in the bag, the number of parcels and their total weight. No customer names or phone numbers.

  • How do I add packages to a manifest?

Open the PUDO > Bags, open a new bag for the destination PUDO, and add parcels by scanning them with the camera or entering their code. Only parcels waiting to leave your PUDO for that destination can be added.

  • How do I remove a package from a manifest?

While the bag is open, remove the parcel from the bag. While the bag is open you can add and remove parcels. After it is sealed it cannot be changed.

  • Can a manifest be modified after creation?

While the bag is open you can add and remove parcels. After it is sealed it cannot be changed.

  • How do I close a manifest?

When the bag is complete, put on the seal, enter or scan the seal code and choose the driver, then press seal. A sealed bag is released to the driver by entering the same seal code; the driver confirms the pickup with it too.

  • How do I confirm manifest departure?

Release the sealed bag to the driver by entering its seal code. The driver confirms the pickup with the same code.

  • How do I confirm manifest arrival?

Open the PUDO > Bags, find the arriving bag, and enter or scan the seal code on the bag. If the seal matches, the app shows your PIN ("Check seal and show PIN"); read it to the driver, who enters it in their app, and then each parcel in the bag is checked in. If it does not match, the app refuses the bag, marks it "seal rejected" and tells Funamu Operations.

  • What happens if the manifest and physical packages do not match?

If the seal does not match, the bag is refused and Funamu Operations are told. If the seal is right but a parcel is not inside, press "Report missing" on that parcel.

Transfers between cities13
  • How are shipments transferred between cities?

Parcels between cities go from the PUDO in the Merchant's city to the PUDO in the customer's city on scheduled departures that Funamu Operations set. The PUDO screen shows the bookings for each departure.

  • How does an origin PUDO prepare shipments for inter-city transport?

Receive the parcels, put those for the same destination PUDO into a bag, seal it, and release it to the driver before the departure time. Record the departure scan for each booked parcel under the inter-city bookings on the PUDO screen.

  • How does a destination PUDO receive inter-city shipments?

Receive the bag with its seal code, or receive the parcels in Hand-overs. That records the arrival, and the customer sees the parcel at your PUDO.

  • How do I assign shipments to an inter-city vehicle?

Funamu Operations book parcels on departures and assign the driver. You see the bookings on the PUDO screen; you do not choose the vehicle.

  • How do I hand shipments to an inter-city transport partner?

Release the sealed bag to the driver by entering the seal code, or hand over single parcels in Hand-overs. The driver confirms on their own phone.

  • How do I confirm departure?

Record the departure scan on the booking when the parcel is loaded. A parcel shows as in transit only after that scan.

  • How do I confirm arrival?

Receive the bag with its seal code, or receive the parcels in Hand-overs. That records the arrival, and the customer sees the parcel at your PUDO.

  • How is custody transferred?

Exactly one party is responsible for a parcel at any time. Responsibility moves only at a recorded step: the receiver's "Received" in a hand-over, a bag released or received with its seal code, a parcel received by its code, or the customer's PIN. Assigning a parcel or arriving with it does not move responsibility.

  • What happens if a vehicle is delayed?

Open the PUDO: under "Missed dispatches and delays", record a late transport with the departure date, whether the departure or the arrival is late, and the expected lateness in minutes. Add a cause only if you know it. Estimates are updated and customers get a message when the delay is large.

  • What happens if a vehicle breaks down?

The driver stays responsible for the parcels and tells Funamu. Record the late transport under "Missed dispatches and delays" if you know of it. Funamu Operations arrange another vehicle and update the estimates.

  • What happens if shipments are missing after transit?

A bag whose seal does not match is refused and reported automatically. A parcel that is not in a bag with a correct seal is reported with "Report missing". Funamu Operations investigate from the seal checks at each hand-over.

  • What happens if shipments are damaged during transit?

Before accepting: mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over, so it does not become your responsibility. After accepting: press "Report damaged" on the parcel. Keep the parcel aside, do not repair or repack it, and Funamu Operations decide.

  • How do I report an inter-city transfer problem?

Record a late vehicle or a missed dispatch under "Missed dispatches and delays" on the PUDO screen. For missing or damaged parcels, mark them in the hand-over or on the parcel. For anything else, message Funamu Support in Chat.

Handing over to another PUDO Partner10
  • How do I hand over a shipment to another PUDO Partner?

Parcels do not pass directly between two PUDOs. They travel with a driver: you release the sealed bag (or hand over the parcels) to the driver, and the other PUDO receives them from the driver.

  • Who can authorize a handover?

An admin, or a worker with the parcel work task at that PUDO, starts the hand-over. Only the receiver named in it can accept.

  • How do I verify the receiving partner?

The app does it. Only a Delivery Partner signed in to their own account and assigned to those parcels can be chosen, and only they can accept. Never hand a parcel to someone who is not shown in the hand-over.

  • What information must be recorded?

Nothing by hand. The hand-over records who gave, who received, each parcel, each decision (Received, Missing, Damaged, Wrong parcel) and the time.

  • How do I confirm handover?

The receiver confirms it: each parcel they mark Received, or the bag they accept with the right seal code.

  • When does responsibility transfer?

Exactly one party is responsible for a parcel at any time. Responsibility moves only at a recorded step: the receiver's "Received" in a hand-over, a bag released or received with its seal code, a parcel received by its code, or the customer's PIN. Assigning a parcel or arriving with it does not move responsibility.

  • What happens if the receiving partner refuses the shipment?

The parcel stays in your responsibility. The receiver's decision (Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel) is recorded and Funamu Operations decide what happens next.

  • What happens if the shipment is damaged during handover?

The receiver marks it Damaged and it stays the giver's responsibility. Funamu Operations decide.

  • What happens if the shipment is missing during handover?

The receiver marks it Missing and it stays the giver's responsibility. Funamu Operations investigate.

  • Can a handover be reversed?

A hand-over that nobody has accepted yet can be cancelled by the person who started it. An accepted hand-over cannot be undone: the parcel is handed back with a new hand-over, or Funamu Operations correct the record.

Scanning parcels8
  • How do I scan a package?

You do not need a scanner, camera scanning, barcodes or QR codes. Find any parcel by typing the order number the customer sees in "Search by order number" (the last 3 or more characters are enough). Type a bag's seal number and a Merchant's 6-digit drop-off code.

  • Which package identifiers can be scanned?

The order number the customer sees (FM-2026-...), a bag's seal number, and the Merchant's 6-digit drop-off code. Parcel tracking numbers are shown too, for reference.

  • What happens if a barcode cannot be scanned?

Type the code printed under the barcode instead. If the label cannot be read at all, do not guess: keep the parcel aside and message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number.

  • Can I enter a package ID manually?

Yes. Every code can be typed in instead of scanned.

  • What happens if the scanned package is not expected?

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told.

  • What happens if a package is scanned twice?

Nothing is recorded twice. The second scan returns the first result.

  • How do I correct an incorrect scan?

You cannot delete or edit a scan. On the parcel choose "Report a tracking problem" and say what is wrong. Funamu Operations add a correction; the original record stays in the history.

  • How do I see the package scan history?

The parcel shows its recorded steps: where it was received, by which PUDO, when it left and when it arrived. You see the steps of parcels that are or were at your PUDO. The full record with every person's name is held by Funamu Operations.

Tracking parcels8
  • How do I track a package at my facility?

Search the tracking number or the order number in "Parcels here" or in the Orders tab. The parcel shows its status, its bin, where it came from and where it goes next.

  • How do I see where a package came from?

Search the tracking number or the order number in "Parcels here" or in the Orders tab. The parcel shows its status, its bin, where it came from and where it goes next.

  • How do I see where a package is going?

Search the tracking number or the order number in "Parcels here" or in the Orders tab. The parcel shows its status, its bin, where it came from and where it goes next.

  • How do I see the current package status?

Search the tracking number or the order number in "Parcels here" or in the Orders tab. The parcel shows its status, its bin, where it came from and where it goes next.

  • How do I see package custody history?

The parcel shows its recorded steps: where it was received, by which PUDO, when it left and when it arrived. You see the steps of parcels that are or were at your PUDO. The full record with every person's name is held by Funamu Operations.

  • How do I see previous facility transfers?

The parcel shows its recorded steps: where it was received, by which PUDO, when it left and when it arrived. You see the steps of parcels that are or were at your PUDO. The full record with every person's name is held by Funamu Operations.

  • How do I identify delayed packages?

The PUDO screen lists "Delayed or overdue here": parcels whose next step is past its expected time, with the reason when one was recorded. "Stored parcels" shows how long every parcel has waited.

  • How do I identify packages that have not moved?

The PUDO screen lists "Delayed or overdue here": parcels whose next step is past its expected time, with the reason when one was recorded. "Stored parcels" shows how long every parcel has waited.

Parcel condition9
  • How do I inspect package condition?

Look at the packaging before you accept: closed, not torn, not crushed, not wet, not leaking. You never open a parcel, except in a customer inspection the app allows.

  • What should I do if a package is damaged?

Before accepting: mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over, so it does not become your responsibility. After accepting: press "Report damaged" on the parcel. Keep the parcel aside, do not repair or repack it, and Funamu Operations decide.

  • What should I do if packaging is open?

Before accepting: mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over, so it does not become your responsibility. After accepting: press "Report damaged" on the parcel. Keep the parcel aside, do not repair or repack it, and Funamu Operations decide.

  • What should I do if a package is leaking?

Do not accept it: mark it "Damaged". If you already hold it, keep it away from other parcels, do not open it, press "Report damaged" and tell Funamu Support in Chat.

  • What should I do if a package is improperly packaged?

From a Merchant, refuse the drop-off with "Not closed" or "Damaged". From a Delivery Partner, mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over. You never repack a parcel.

  • Should I photograph package damage?

Yes. In the hand-over, when you mark a parcel Damaged or Wrong parcel, press "Add photo" and add up to 3 photos before you confirm. Funamu Operations see them with your note. For damage you find after receiving, send photos to Funamu Support in Chat with the order number.

  • How do I record package condition?

Condition is recorded by your decision: Received means it looked good, Damaged means it did not. After receiving, use "Report damaged" with a note.

  • Who is responsible for damage discovered at my facility?

Whoever was responsible for the parcel when the damage or loss happened, shown by the recorded hand-overs. If you marked it Damaged before accepting, it was not yours. If you received it as good and it is later damaged or missing at your PUDO, it is yours. Funamu Operations decide from the records.

  • How is responsibility determined?

Whoever was responsible for the parcel when the damage or loss happened, shown by the recorded hand-overs. If you marked it Damaged before accepting, it was not yours. If you received it as good and it is later damaged or missing at your PUDO, it is yours. Funamu Operations decide from the records.

Missing parcels8
  • What should I do if a package is missing?

Press "Report missing" on the parcel. Funamu Operations are told at once and investigate from the hand-over and scan records. Do not mark any other parcel in its place.

  • How do I report a missing package?

Press "Report missing" on the parcel. Funamu Operations are told at once and investigate from the hand-over and scan records. Do not mark any other parcel in its place.

  • How do I investigate a missing package?

Check its bin and the bins near it, the outbound shelf, open bags and today's hand-overs. Look at its recorded steps on the parcel. Then report it; Funamu Operations do the investigation.

  • Can I view the package's last scan?

The parcel shows its recorded steps: where it was received, by which PUDO, when it left and when it arrived. You see the steps of parcels that are or were at your PUDO. The full record with every person's name is held by Funamu Operations.

  • Can I view the package's last known location?

The parcel shows its recorded steps: where it was received, by which PUDO, when it left and when it arrived. You see the steps of parcels that are or were at your PUDO. The full record with every person's name is held by Funamu Operations.

  • Who is responsible for investigating missing packages?

Funamu Operations. They compare the hand-over records, the scans and what each party reports, and may ask your PUDO what its records show under "Funamu needs your input".

  • What happens after a missing-package report?

Funamu Operations open a case, check the records and decide who was responsible. The customer is refunded by Funamu when the parcel is lost. You may be asked for your account of it.

  • Can a missing package result in a financial claim?

Funamu refunds the customer for a parcel that is lost or damaged. Funamu Operations then decide from the hand-over records who was responsible. The app takes nothing from your balance automatically; if Operations hold your PUDO responsible they tell you the reason, and you can ask for a review in Chat.

Misrouted parcels8
  • What is a misrouted package?

A parcel that arrived at a PUDO it was not planned for. In a hand-over, mark it "Wrong parcel" and do not receive it. If you already hold it, use "Report a tracking problem" on the parcel and message Funamu Support in Chat. Funamu Operations decide the new route; you never redirect a parcel yourself.

  • How do I identify a misrouted package?

It is not on your inbound list, or its label names another PUDO or city than yours.

  • What should I do with a misrouted package?

A parcel that arrived at a PUDO it was not planned for. In a hand-over, mark it "Wrong parcel" and do not receive it. If you already hold it, use "Report a tracking problem" on the parcel and message Funamu Support in Chat. Funamu Operations decide the new route; you never redirect a parcel yourself.

  • Can I redirect the package?

No. Funamu Operations only. They change a parcel's route with a reason, and the change is recorded with their name. The customer's estimate is updated when they do.

  • Who authorizes rerouting?

Funamu Operations only. They change a parcel's route with a reason, and the change is recorded with their name. The customer's estimate is updated when they do.

  • How do I record the routing correction?

You report it ("Wrong parcel" in the hand-over, or "Report a tracking problem"); Funamu Operations record the correction.

  • Does rerouting affect delivery time?

Usually yes. The customer's estimate is worked out again when the route changes, and they see the new one next to the old one.

  • Who is responsible for the routing error?

Funamu Operations decide from the records: who handed the parcel to whom, and where it was planned to go.

Delayed parcels8
  • What counts as a delayed shipment?

A parcel whose next recorded step is past the expected time for that step. Funamu works this out per step (waiting at the PUDO, travelling between PUDOs, out for delivery), not by one fixed number of hours.

  • How do I identify delayed shipments?

The PUDO screen lists "Delayed or overdue here": parcels whose next step is past its expected time, with the reason when one was recorded. "Stored parcels" shows how long every parcel has waited.

  • What should I do when a shipment is delayed?

Move the parcel on with a real scan as soon as you can. If a vehicle is late or a departure was missed, record it under "Missed dispatches and delays" with the reason.

  • How do I report a delay?

Open the PUDO: under "Missed dispatches and delays", record a late transport with the departure date, whether the departure or the arrival is late, and the expected lateness in minutes. Add a cause only if you know it. Estimates are updated and customers get a message when the delay is large.

  • Who is notified about a delay?

The customer sees the delay and the new estimate on their order, and gets a message when the delay is large. Funamu Operations see every open delay.

  • Can a delayed shipment be rerouted?

Yes, by Funamu Operations. A parcel that missed its departure is booked on the next one with space.

  • How does a delay affect customers?

The customer sees that the parcel is late, the reason when one was recorded, and the new estimate next to the old one. The service they chose does not change.

  • How does a delay affect delivery partners?

A Delivery Partner waiting for a late parcel is not paid for waiting. Their delivery is shown as late; the fee does not change.

Returns at a PUDO9
  • How do customers return packages at a PUDO?

The customer asks for the return in their Funamu app. When it is approved, the return appears under "Returns" on your PUDO screen with its return reference (FMRET-...). The customer brings the parcel; you receive it there.

  • How do I verify a return?

Match the return reference (FMRET-...) and the order number with the return on your screen, and follow the handling note on it (for example original packaging required). Look at the outside only: never open a return to inspect it, the Merchant does that.

  • How do I accept a return package?

Under "Returns" on the PUDO screen, open the return and receive it. Only an approved return listed there can be received.

  • How do I inspect a returned package?

Match the return reference (FMRET-...) and the order number with the return on your screen, and follow the handling note on it (for example original packaging required). Look at the outside only: never open a return to inspect it, the Merchant does that.

  • How do I record return condition?

Follow the handling note on the return (for example photos of the packed item). Anything else you saw, tell Funamu Support in Chat with the return reference.

  • Where should returned packages be stored?

Give it a bin like any parcel and keep it apart from parcels waiting for customers, until the Delivery Partner assigned to the return collects it.

  • How do I transfer returned packages?

Under "Returns", release the parcel to the Delivery Partner assigned to that return. At the Merchant's end the Merchant confirms receipt with their return PIN.

  • What happens if the customer returns the wrong package?

Do not receive it. Only a parcel that matches an approved return on your screen can be received. Ask the customer to check the return in their app.

  • What happens if a returned package is damaged?

Receive it only as the handling note allows and tell Funamu Support in Chat what you saw, with photos. The Merchant inspects the item and Funamu decides the refund; you never decide it at the counter.

Returns travelling through a PUDO7
  • How are returns processed at a PUDO?

Like any parcel, in the other direction: received from the Delivery Partner carrying it, stored, and released to the next Delivery Partner or bagged for the Merchant's city. "Returns" on the PUDO screen shows each one and its next step.

  • How do I receive returned shipments?

Under "Returns", receive the return from the Delivery Partner carrying it. For a parcel not collected by its customer, receive it in your PUDO work list.

  • How do I sort returned packages?

By next stop, like any outbound parcel, and kept apart from parcels waiting for customers.

  • Where do returned packages go?

Back to the Merchant who sold the item. Funamu sets the route and assigns the Delivery Partner; between cities it travels through the PUDOs like any parcel.

  • How do I send returned packages to merchants?

Under "Returns", release the parcel to the Delivery Partner assigned to that return. At the Merchant's end the Merchant confirms receipt with their return PIN. When the Merchant collects from your PUDO, enter the Merchant's return PIN to confirm.

  • How are return manifests created?

There is no separate return manifest. A return travelling to another city goes in a bag like any parcel, with the bag's manifest.

  • How are return transfers tracked?

Each return has its own reference (FMRET-...) linked to the original order. "Returns" on the PUDO screen shows where each one is and its next step.

Parcels going back to the Merchant9
  • What is reverse logistics?

A parcel travelling back to the Merchant: a customer return, a failed delivery sent back, or a parcel not collected at a PUDO in time.

  • How are reverse-logistics shipments assigned?

Funamu builds the return route and assigns a Delivery Partner to each part of it. The return appears in your list when it is your PUDO's turn.

  • How are return packages routed?

Back to the Merchant who sold the item. Funamu sets the route and assigns the Delivery Partner; between cities it travels through the PUDOs like any parcel.

  • Which PUDO should receive a return?

The one Funamu shows on the return. A customer return is brought to the PUDO named in the customer's app; you can receive only returns listed on your screen.

  • How do I track a return?

Each return has its own reference (FMRET-...) linked to the original order. "Returns" on the PUDO screen shows where each one is and its next step.

  • How do I transfer a return?

Under "Returns", release the parcel to the Delivery Partner assigned to that return. At the Merchant's end the Merchant confirms receipt with their return PIN.

  • How do I complete reverse-logistics processing?

Your part is complete when the next party accepts the parcel: the Delivery Partner you release it to, or the Merchant who gives their return PIN at your PUDO.

  • What happens when a return cannot be delivered?

If the Merchant cannot be reached or refuses the return, the parcel stays with the party holding it and Funamu Operations decide. You keep it safe until they tell you the next step.

  • How are reverse-logistics fees calculated?

A PUDO earns its handling fee on a returning parcel it receives, at the rate Funamu Operations set, like any parcel. For a parcel a customer did not collect, your PUDO still earns its PUDO collection charge. Who pays for a return (customer, Merchant or Funamu) is decided by Funamu's return rules, never at your counter.

Customers at your PUDO9
  • How do customers collect packages?

Open the location > Counter, search the order number in "Search by order number" (or find the parcel under "Waiting for the customer"), press "Verify pickup" and type the customer's 4-digit PIN. Hand the parcel over only after the app confirms it. For several orders of one customer, verify each order with its own PIN.

  • How do I verify customer identity?

The 4-digit order PIN is the proof. Funamu does not ask you to check an identity card, take a signature or take a photo. Whoever gives the right PIN for that order receives the parcel.

  • How do I verify customer authorization?

The 4-digit order PIN is the proof. Funamu does not ask you to check an identity card, take a signature or take a photo. Whoever gives the right PIN for that order receives the parcel.

  • What happens if the customer does not have the required OTP?

Do not hand over the parcel. Ask the customer to open the order in their Funamu app, where the PIN is shown. After 5 wrong PINs in a row the order is blocked and Funamu Operations step in. If the customer cannot get the PIN, they ask Funamu Support in their app; you never release on a name, a phone number or an ID alone.

  • What happens if the customer information does not match?

You are not shown the customer's details to compare. If the PIN is wrong, the app refuses.

  • Can another person collect the package?

Yes. The customer gives the order PIN to the person they send. Anyone who gives the right PIN for that order may collect; you do not need to know who they are.

  • How do I handle customer disputes?

Do not argue or decide at the counter, and never give a refund. Ask the customer to report the problem on the order in their Funamu app. If Funamu needs your account of it, it appears under "Funamu needs your input" on the PUDO screen.

  • How do I report customer misconduct?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number or tracking number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours. If you are in danger, call 999 or 112 first.

  • What customer information can PUDO staff see?

Only what the hand-over needs: the parcel's tracking number, the order number, where it came from, where it goes and its status, and for a gift who receives it. Never the customer's phone number, address, payment or other orders.

Merchants and your PUDO8
  • How do merchants drop packages at my facility?

  • What happens if a merchant sends an incorrect package?

Do not receive it. Mark it "Wrong parcel" in the hand-over, or refuse the drop-off with "Wrong label". Funamu Operations and the Merchant are told.

  • What happens if a merchant sends an unregistered package?

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told.

  • How do I communicate with merchants?

Use the parcel's chat in the Chat tab. Phone numbers are not shown, and messages that try to move a deal off Funamu are blocked.

  • What merchant information can I see?

The Merchant's merchant name on a drop-off or a return, and nothing about their prices, sales or earnings.

  • How do merchants track packages at my facility?

A Merchant sees the tracking of their own orders in the Merchant app, including "At PUDO" with your PUDO's name. They do not see your other parcels, your stock or your staff.

  • How do I report merchant problems?

Refuse the parcel with the reason, or mark it Damaged or Wrong parcel in the hand-over. Funamu Operations and the Merchant are told. For anything else, message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number.

PUDO Partner earnings11
  • How do PUDO Partners earn money?

A PUDO earns one kind of fee: the Handling Fee (report 0224). The City Manager sets two schedules per city - one for PUDOs registered as intercity, one for every other PUDO - in bands of parcel weight, volumetric weight and item value: the fee is the higher of the two weight-band fees plus the item-value band fee of that merchant parcel. It is part of the customer's one delivery total. Funamu keeps its handling commission (20%) and your PUDO keeps the rest. There is no collection charge and no storage fee. It is locked on the order when the customer pays and credited to your balance when the parcel is settled.

  • How are PUDO collection fees calculated?

From the City Manager's handling-fee bands: the higher of the actual-weight and volumetric-weight band fees, plus the item-value band fee, of each merchant parcel - from the intercity schedule if your PUDO is registered as intercity, otherwise the other-PUDO schedule. The PUDO screen > Earnings shows every amount credited.

  • How are PUDO fees calculated?

From the City Manager's handling-fee bands: the higher of the actual-weight and volumetric-weight band fees, plus the item-value band fee, of each merchant parcel - from the intercity schedule if your PUDO is registered as intercity, otherwise the other-PUDO schedule. The PUDO screen > Earnings shows every amount credited.

  • Are facilities paid per package?

Yes. The Handling Fee is per merchant parcel your PUDO handles.

  • Are facilities paid per transaction?

Per merchant parcel handled (the Handling Fee). Nothing is paid per scan or per hand-over, and there is no separate collection charge.

  • Are facilities paid for storage?

No. There are no storage fees (report 0224). A customer has 7 free days to collect; after that the parcel goes back to the merchant.

  • Are facilities paid for handovers?

Not for the hand-over itself. You earn the handling fee when you receive the parcel; handing it on is part of the same work.

  • Are facilities paid for returns?

A returning parcel you receive earns the handling fee like any parcel. For a parcel a customer did not collect, your PUDO keeps its Handling Fee when the return is completed.

  • How are inter-city logistics fees calculated?

The customer's delivery total for an order between cities includes a handling fee for the PUDO at each end, at the rates Funamu Operations set. Each PUDO is credited its own fee when it receives the parcel.

  • Where can I see my earnings?

Open the PUDO > Earnings: the balance not yet paid out and each amount credited, newest first. Only an admin sees earnings. A company admin sees every PUDO in the Company workspace.

  • How do I dispute an earning?

Message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number or the payout and what you think is wrong. Funamu Operations check the records once and tell you the result.

Commission and platform fees8
  • Does the platform charge PUDO Partners a commission?

Yes. Funamu keeps a handling commission: a percentage of the PUDO fees, set by Funamu Operations as a rate and locked on each order when it is placed. It is taken when the fee is credited, so what you see credited is already net.

  • How are commissions calculated?

Yes. Funamu keeps a handling commission: a percentage of the PUDO fees, set by Funamu Operations as a rate and locked on each order when it is placed. It is taken when the fee is credited, so what you see credited is already net.

  • Does a PUDO earn more than one kind of fee?

No. Since report 0224 a PUDO earns one kind of fee, the Handling Fee. The rate depends on whether the PUDO is registered as intercity.

  • When are fees deducted?

When the fee is credited to your balance. Nothing is taken later from a payout, and Funamu pays the transfer cost.

  • Where can I see fee deductions?

The PUDO screen > Earnings lists each amount credited, already net of commission. For the breakdown of one parcel, ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Why was a fee deducted?

The only deduction is Funamu's handling commission, taken when a fee is credited. If you see any other reduction of your balance, ask Funamu Support in Chat: Operations tell you the reason.

  • Can I dispute a fee?

Yes. Message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number or the payout and what you think is wrong. Funamu Operations check the records once and tell you the result.

  • Can fees vary by shipment type?

Yes. The City Manager sets the Handling Fee in bands of weight, volumetric weight and item value, per city, with separate schedules for intercity-registered PUDOs and other PUDOs.

Payouts13
  • How do I receive my PUDO earnings?

Press "Request Payout" on the PUDO screen (or in the Company workspace). Enter the amount and check the Transaction Fee, the total taken from your balance and what you will receive. The minimum withdrawal is UGX 5,000 for every account. A withdrawal below UGX 500,000 has a UGX 999 Transaction Fee; UGX 500,000 or more is free. The fee is taken from your Funamu balance on top of the amount, so you receive the full amount you asked for (for UGX 100,000: UGX 100,999 leaves your balance and UGX 100,000 is sent). The Transaction Fee is not commission and never lowers what an order earned: your earnings show orders, your withdrawal history shows the fee. One withdrawal per account per Uganda day (midnight to midnight, Kampala time); a withdrawal that is still pending or processing uses the day, and only one that is confirmed failed (amount and fee back in your balance) lets you try again the same day. Nobody has to approve it, and Paytota's own charge for sending it is paid by Funamu.

  • What payout methods are supported?

Mobile money, to the payout account you added. One mobile money payout can be at most UGX 5,000,000. Bank payouts are not available yet: for a larger balance, message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • How do I add a payout account?

Funamu pays you into one payout account, an MTN or Airtel Mobile Money number, registered when you applied. To add or change it, open the PUDO > Payment & Payout Accounts, or More > Facility profile, enter the number, press "Send code to my email" and enter the code sent to your registered email address. The new account replaces the old one and Funamu emails you a notice. A company chooses one shared account or one per PUDO. Each change is recorded.

When you request it. There is no weekly or monthly schedule. Mobile money usually arrives within minutes.

  • How long do payouts take?

When you request it. There is no weekly or monthly schedule. Mobile money usually arrives within minutes.

  • Why is my payout pending?

The mobile money provider has not confirmed the transfer yet. Funamu checks it again by itself and Funamu Operations are alerted if it stays pending. Do not request again; the money is not lost.

  • Why was my payout rejected?

Usual reasons: the balance is below the minimum, you already requested today, no payout account is set, the amount is above UGX 5,000,000, or the provider refused the number. A failed payout returns to your balance; correct the account and request again.

  • Why did I not receive my payout?

Check the payout's status under Request Payout and that the payout account is the right number. The mobile money provider has not confirmed the transfer yet. Funamu checks it again by itself and Funamu Operations are alerted if it stays pending. Do not request again; the money is not lost.

  • Can I view payout history?

Yes. The PUDO screen > Request Payout lists your payouts with the amount, date and status.

  • Can I download payout records?

Not yet. Earnings and payout records cannot be downloaded; they are listed on the PUDO screen under Earnings and Request Payout. A PUDO Company can download its report of hand-overs and parcels (Company workspace > Reports), and a bag's manifest downloads as a PDF.

  • How do I dispute a payout?

Message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number or the payout and what you think is wrong. Funamu Operations check the records once and tell you the result.

Reconciliation9
  • What is PUDO reconciliation?

Compare the parcels you received and released with the amounts under Earnings. A company admin has the counts under Company workspace > Reports.

  • How do I identify discrepancies?

Company workspace > Exceptions lists every parcel marked Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel, open and resolved. Funamu AI can list them too.

  • How do I correct a reconciliation error?

You cannot edit records. Report the parcel (Missing, Damaged, or "Report a tracking problem"); Funamu Operations add a correction with their name and a reason, and the original record stays.

  • Who can approve reconciliation adjustments?

Funamu Operations only. A PUDO Partner cannot adjust a record.

  • Can reconciliation differences affect my payout?

Not automatically. Funamu refunds the customer for a parcel that is lost or damaged. Funamu Operations then decide from the hand-over records who was responsible. The app takes nothing from your balance automatically; if Operations hold your PUDO responsible they tell you the reason, and you can ask for a review in Chat.

Staff accounts11
  • Can I create staff accounts?

Yes. An admin invites workers by the email of their Funamu account and chooses Admin or Worker, their tasks and their PUDOs: a single PUDO under More > Workers, a PUDO Company in the Company workspace > Workers. • What can a PUDO manager do?

Funamu has no separate manager role. The person who runs a PUDO is an Admin: Everything at every PUDO of the company: parcel work, opening and pausing, earnings, payouts, payout accounts, the profile, and inviting, changing and removing workers.

  • What can a PUDO operator do?

A worker with the parcel work task can do hand-overs, receive parcels, store them and release them to customers with the PIN, at the PUDOs assigned to them. With the second task they can also open or pause the PUDO. A worker never sees earnings, payouts or other workers.

Keeping parcels safe7
  • What security requirements apply to PUDOs?

Keep parcels in a locked, dry place that customers cannot reach. Only your own staff handle them. Never open a parcel. Never hand one over without the app step: the PIN for a customer, an accepted hand-over for a Delivery Partner. Each person signs in with their own account.

  • How should packages be protected?

Keep parcels in a locked, dry place that only your staff can reach, off the floor and away from the counter. Give each parcel a bin (a shelf or box code) when you receive it, so anyone can find it.

  • Who is authorized to access stored packages?

Only you and the workers of your PUDO. Delivery Partners, Merchants and customers wait at the counter.

  • How are package access events recorded?

Every recorded step names the account that did it and the time: receiving, binning, bagging, sealing, releasing, a hand-over decision and a collection. The app does not record who opened a store-room door.

  • How do I report unauthorized access?

For a parcel, record it on the parcel: Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel in the hand-over, or "Report missing" / "Report damaged". For everything else (theft, a break-in, a person's behaviour, an accident), message Funamu Support in Chat with what happened, when, and who was there.

Funamu does not calculate a score or a rate for a PUDO. The Company workspace > Reports counts, for the dates and PUDO you choose, the hand-overs by status, the parcel decisions (received, missing, damaged, wrong parcel), the parcels by status and the exceptions open and resolved.

  • What is my shipment turnaround time?

Funamu does not show a turnaround time. "Stored parcels" shows how long each parcel has waited, and "Delayed or overdue here" lists those past their expected time.

  • What is my discrepancy rate?

Funamu does not calculate a score or a rate for a PUDO. The Company workspace > Reports counts, for the dates and PUDO you choose, the hand-overs by status, the parcel decisions (received, missing, damaged, wrong parcel), the parcels by status and the exceptions open and resolved.

  • What is my delayed shipment rate?

Funamu does not calculate this rate. "Delayed or overdue here" on the PUDO screen lists the parcels that are late now.

  • Can PUDO performance affect assignments?

No. Parcels go to a PUDO because of where it is and whether it is open, not because of a score, and the fees are the same for every PUDO in a city. Funamu Operations can suspend a PUDO that loses or mishandles parcels.

  • Can PUDO performance affect earnings?

No. Parcels go to a PUDO because of where it is and whether it is open, not because of a score, and the fees are the same for every PUDO in a city. Funamu Operations can suspend a PUDO that loses or mishandles parcels.

There are no PUDO ratings to dispute. If a customer complains about your PUDO, Funamu may ask what your records show under "Funamu needs your input".

  • Can ratings affect facility assignments?

No. Funamu has no ratings or reviews for PUDOs. Customers rate products and Merchants. Parcels are not sent by rating.

Notifications9
  • What notifications do PUDO Partners receive?

Push notifications on your phone, each of which you can switch off in the Chat tab: new chat messages about parcels at your PUDOs; a parcel on its way to your PUDO and a hand-over waiting for you; and, for admins, a payout paid or failed. The lock screen never shows message text or customer details. A worker is notified only about the PUDOs assigned to them. Everything is also listed on the PUDO screen and in the Orders tab.

  • What notifications do PUDO operators receive?

Push notifications on your phone, each of which you can switch off in the Chat tab: new chat messages about parcels at your PUDOs; a parcel on its way to your PUDO and a hand-over waiting for you; and, for admins, a payout paid or failed. The lock screen never shows message text or customer details. A worker is notified only about the PUDOs assigned to them. Everything is also listed on the PUDO screen and in the Orders tab.

  • How do I receive incoming shipment notifications?

When a Delivery Partner picks up a parcel that is coming to your PUDO, you get "Parcel on its way" on your phone. Inbound parcels are also listed under "Inbound" on the PUDO screen.

  • How do I receive pickup notifications?

There is no push notification for this yet. Open the PUDO screen or the Orders tab: it is listed there. Parcels ready for collection are under "Parcels here".

  • How do I receive transfer notifications?

When a Delivery Partner starts a hand-over at your PUDO, you get "Hand-over waiting" on your phone. Open the PUDO > Hand-overs to accept each parcel.

  • How do I receive incident notifications?

There is no push notification for this yet. Open the PUDO screen or the Orders tab: it is listed there. Requests from Funamu are under "Funamu needs your input", and Support replies arrive as chat messages, which do notify you.

  • How do I receive payout notifications?

Admins get "Payout sent" or "Payout failed" on their phone when the mobile money provider confirms. The payout's status is also under Request Payout.

  • Can I configure notifications?

Yes. In the Chat tab, switch each kind on or off for your own account: chat messages, parcels and hand-overs, and payouts.

  • Why am I not receiving notifications?

Check that notifications are allowed for the PUDO app in your phone's settings, that message notifications are on in the app, and that you are signed in. A worker is notified only about the PUDOs assigned to them.

The PUDO app13
  • How do I use the PUDO app?

The PUDO app has five tabs: Home (your PUDO and all its parcel work), Funamu AI, Orders (the parcels that need action), Chat (parcel chats and Funamu Support) and More (Facility profile, Company workspace, Help Center, Password & security).

  • How do I view incoming shipments?

Open the PUDO: "Inbound" lists parcels on their way to you. The Orders tab shows them across all your PUDOs.

  • How do I scan packages?

You do not need a scanner, camera scanning, barcodes or QR codes. Find any parcel by typing the order number the customer sees in "Search by order number" (the last 3 or more characters are enough). Type a bag's seal number and a Merchant's 6-digit drop-off code.

  • How do I receive packages?

Open the location > Counter > Hand-overs. The Delivery Partner starts the hand-over in their app; you check each parcel against the list and mark it Received, or Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel, then show your 4-digit PIN and read it to them. They enter it in their app, and only then do the parcels you marked Received become yours. Searching the order number only finds a parcel; it never takes a parcel in. No scanner is needed.

  • How do I release packages?

Open the location > Counter, search the order number in "Search by order number" (or find the parcel under "Waiting for the customer"), press "Verify pickup" and type the customer's 4-digit PIN. Hand the parcel over only after the app confirms it. For several orders of one customer, verify each order with its own PIN. To a Delivery Partner: Open the PUDO > Hand-overs and start a hand-over to the Delivery Partner. The app lists only the parcels waiting to leave that are assigned to that Delivery Partner. They accept each parcel on their own phone; the parcel leaves your responsibility only when they accept it.

  • How do I create or view manifests?

Open the PUDO > Bags. The manifest is made by the app from the parcels you add to the bag. Download it as a PDF from the bag.

  • How do I process transfers?

Receive the parcels, put those for the same destination PUDO into a bag, seal it, and release it to the driver before the departure time. Record the departure scan for each booked parcel under the inter-city bookings on the PUDO screen.

  • How do I report incidents?

For a parcel, record it on the parcel: Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel in the hand-over, or "Report missing" / "Report damaged". For everything else (theft, a break-in, a person's behaviour, an accident), message Funamu Support in Chat with what happened, when, and who was there.

  • How do I view facility capacity?

The PUDO screen shows it: the capacity you gave, how many parcels are stored, how many are on their way and how many places are free. Change the capacity in More > Facility profile.

  • How do I view earnings?

Open the PUDO > Earnings: the balance not yet paid out and each amount credited, newest first. Only an admin sees earnings. A company admin sees every PUDO in the Company workspace.

  • How do I view payouts?

Yes. The PUDO screen > Request Payout lists your payouts with the amount, date and status.

  • How do I manage staff?

Yes. An admin invites workers by the email of their Funamu account and chooses Admin or Worker, their tasks and their PUDOs: a single PUDO under More > Workers, a PUDO Company in the Company workspace > Workers. The person gets access only after they accept in the PUDO app with their own account.

  • How do I manage facility settings?

More > Facility profile: name, location, capacity, contacts and payout accounts. Open or pause the PUDO with "Open" and "Closed" on the PUDO screen. Hours are set by Funamu Operations.

Offline and poor connection8
  • What happens if the PUDO loses internet?

The app keeps working without internet for two things: receiving a parcel by its code and a customer collection with the PIN. Each is saved on the phone, shown as waiting, and sent when the connection returns; the server then checks it. Hand-overs with a Delivery Partner, bags and seals, payouts and profile changes need a connection.

  • Can packages still be scanned offline?

Yes, to receive a parcel by its code.

  • Can package receiving work offline?

No. Every parcel is received with a PIN hand-over, and that needs a connection on both phones. Scans made offline are saved and checked later, but they only find parcels; they never receive them.

  • Can package release work offline?

You can enter the order and the PIN offline, but the PIN is checked only by the server. The collection shows as waiting for the server's check. Best practice: hand the parcel over only after the app shows it confirmed.

  • Can manifest processing work offline?

No. Bags, seals and manifests need a connection, because the seal is checked by the server at every hand-over.

  • When are offline transactions synchronized?

As soon as the phone is online again, in the order they were made. The server decides each one as if it had just arrived: a parcel already received is not received twice, and a wrong PIN is refused.

  • What happens if synchronization fails?

The item stays marked as waiting and the app tries again. If the server refuses it (wrong code, wrong PIN, parcel no longer expected), you see the reason and nothing was changed. If it keeps failing, message Funamu Support in Chat.

  • How do I resolve a synchronization problem?

Get a connection (mobile data or Wi-Fi) and keep the app open; waiting items are sent by themselves. Do not enter the same parcel again on another phone. The item stays marked as waiting and the app tries again. If the server refuses it (wrong code, wrong PIN, parcel no longer expected), you see the reason and nothing was changed. If it keeps failing, message Funamu Support in Chat.

Barcode and scanner problems7
  • What should I do if a barcode does not scan?

Type the code printed under the barcode instead. If the label cannot be read at all, do not guess: keep the parcel aside and message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number.

  • What if the barcode is damaged?

Type the code printed under the barcode instead. If the label cannot be read at all, do not guess: keep the parcel aside and message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number.

  • Can I enter the package ID manually?

Yes. Every code can be typed in instead of scanned.

  • What if the scanner is not working?

Type the code instead. Check that the PUDO app may use the camera in your phone's settings, clean the lens and use good light.

  • Can I use a phone camera as a scanner?

Yes. In Bags, "Scan parcel with camera" and "Scan seal with camera" use the phone's camera. A separate barcode scanner that types into the field also works.

Data and reports11
  • What PUDO data can I access?

The parcels at your PUDOs, their recorded steps while they are or were with you, your hand-overs, your exceptions, your earnings and payouts, and in a company the workers and reports. Nothing of other PUDO Partners.

  • Can I view package history?

The parcel shows its recorded steps: where it was received, by which PUDO, when it left and when it arrived. You see the steps of parcels that are or were at your PUDO. The full record with every person's name is held by Funamu Operations.

  • Can I view manifest history?

Open the PUDO > Bags: bags are listed with their status and manifest.

Privacy12
  • What PUDO Partner information does the platform collect?

Your Funamu account (name, email, optional phone), the PUDO's name, address, map location, kind of place, capacity and contacts, payout accounts, company details and documents, photos of your identity document and face, and a record of what each account did in the app.

  • Why is my information collected?

To approve the PUDO, send parcels to the right place, show customers where to collect, pay you, and be able to show who was responsible for a parcel at each moment.

  • What customer information can PUDO staff see?

Only what the hand-over needs: the parcel's tracking number, the order number, where it came from, where it goes and its status, and for a gift who receives it. Never the customer's phone number, address, payment or other orders.

  • What merchant information can PUDO staff see?

The Merchant's merchant name on a drop-off or a return, and nothing about their prices, sales or earnings.

  • What information can delivery partners see?

About your PUDO: its name and location, so they can come to it, and the parcels in a hand-over with them. Not your earnings, your workers or your other parcels.

  • Can other PUDO Partners see my information?

No. Another PUDO Partner sees nothing of your account, parcels, workers or money. A PUDO that sends you a bag sees only your PUDO's name as the destination.

  • How is package information protected?

Each account sees only its own PUDOs; the server checks this on every request. Customer phone numbers, addresses and payments are never shown to a PUDO. Records cannot be edited or deleted, only corrected by Funamu Operations with a reason.

Account security12
  • How is my PUDO Partner account protected?

You sign in with your Funamu account: email and password. More > Password & security lets you change the password, turn on two-step verification and see the devices that are signed in.

  • How long do I stay signed in?

You stay signed in until you sign out yourself. Funamu signs a device out only if the app was not used on it for 365 days, or for your safety when your password is changed or reset or you choose to sign out other devices.

  • Can I sign in with Google?

Yes, with the same Funamu account, where Funamu has turned it on: press "Continue with Google" on the sign-in screen. Google only proves who you are; it never approves an application or gives partner access. Link Google first under Password & security if your account was created with email and password.

  • How do I secure staff accounts?

Each worker uses their own Funamu account with their own password. Give each worker only the tasks and PUDOs they need, and revoke anyone who leaves.

  • Can staff share accounts?

No. Each person uses their own Funamu account, so every action carries the right name. In a company, invite each worker; never give out your password.

  • What should I do if an account is compromised?

Change the password at once in More > Password & security and remove any device you do not know under "Your devices". Then tell Funamu Support in Chat, so Operations can check what was done from the account.

  • What should I do if a staff member leaves?

Under Workers (More > Workers for a single PUDO, Company workspace > Workers for a company), revoke the worker. Their access stops on their next action and they are signed out. The records of what they did stay.

  • How are financial records protected?

Only an admin sees earnings and payouts. Money records are written once and never edited; a payout goes only to the payout account on record, and each change of that account is recorded.

  • How are API credentials protected?

No. Funamu has no API or system integration for PUDO Partners. All work is done in the PUDO app, on a phone or in a web browser. There are no API credentials to protect.

  • How do I report a security issue?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number or tracking number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

Suspension9
  • Why was my PUDO Partner account suspended?

  • Why was my PUDO suspended?

Funamu Operations suspend a PUDO Partner, with a reason, when details are wrong, parcels are lost or mishandled, or Funamu's rules are broken. Ask Funamu Support in Chat for the reason on your case.

  • What happens during suspension?

A suspended PUDO receives no new parcels and you cannot switch it to Open. Your records stay visible. Funamu Operations decide what happens to parcels already there: usually they are collected by a Delivery Partner or by their customers.

  • Can I still access package records?

Yes. Your records stay visible in the app.

  • Can I still access earnings?

Yes, you can see them. Whether a payout is released during a suspension is decided by Funamu Operations: ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • How do I appeal a suspension?

Message Funamu Support in Chat and say why the decision should change, with any evidence. Funamu Operations review it once and tell you the result.

  • How long can a suspension last?

Until Funamu Operations lift it. There is no fixed length; it ends when the reason for it has been dealt with.

  • What causes permanent closure?

Repeated loss or mishandling of parcels, opening or keeping parcels, releasing parcels without the PIN, taking money for orders, false details on the application, or danger to customers or staff. Funamu Operations decide, with a reason.

Support9
  • How do I contact PUDO Partner support?

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number or tracking number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

Reply in the same Support chat and say it is not solved. Funamu Support passes it to the Operations team responsible.

  • What information should I provide to support?

The order number (FM-...) or tracking number, the PUDO, what happened and when, and photos if they help. Never send a customer's PIN.

  • Can Funamu AI contact support?

No. Funamu AI answers and shows you where to go; you message Funamu Support yourself in the Chat tab.

  • Can support access my facility records?

Yes. Funamu Funamu workers with access to your city can read your PUDO's parcel, hand-over and money records to help you. What they open and change is recorded with their name.

Leaving Funamu10
  • How do I stop operating as a PUDO Partner?

Open More > Close a PUDO. First press "Closed" on the PUDO screen so no new parcels are sent, then hand over or let customers collect every parcel that is there, and request a payout of your balance. The screen lists what is still open and closes the PUDO only when nothing is. A closed PUDO takes no parcels and cannot be switched to Open. The parcel and money records are kept as the law requires, and you can reopen the PUDO yourself for 12 months. Only an admin can close a PUDO.

  • How do I close a PUDO?

Open More > Close a PUDO. First press "Closed" on the PUDO screen so no new parcels are sent, then hand over or let customers collect every parcel that is there, and request a payout of your balance. The screen lists what is still open and closes the PUDO only when nothing is. A closed PUDO takes no parcels and cannot be switched to Open. The parcel and money records are kept as the law requires, and you can reopen the PUDO yourself for 12 months. Only an admin can close a PUDO.

  • What happens to packages currently stored at my facility?

They must leave before the PUDO is closed: collected by their customers, or handed to the Delivery Partner Funamu Operations send. You stay responsible for each parcel until that hand-over is accepted.

  • What happens to pending transfers?

Parcels on their way to you are sent another way by Funamu Operations once you press "Closed" and tell Support. Bags you have sealed must still be released to their driver.

  • What happens to outstanding reconciliation?

Every open exception (missing, damaged, wrong parcel) is decided by Funamu Operations before the PUDO is closed.

  • What happens to unpaid earnings?

They stay yours. A single PUDO cannot be closed while its balance is large enough to pay out: press "Request Payout" first. A balance below the minimum payout stays on your account; ask Funamu Support in Chat about it.

  • What happens to pending payouts?

A payout already requested is completed to your payout account as usual.

  • What happens to staff accounts?

Workers lose access to the PUDO when it is closed. Their own Funamu accounts are not deleted, and the record of what they did stays.

  • What happens to historical package records?

Parcel and money records are kept as the law requires: money records 5 years, chats 2 years. They are not deleted when you leave.

  • Can I rejoin the platform later?

Yes. For 12 months after you close a PUDO you reopen it yourself under More > Close a PUDO: it comes back paused, and you press "Open" when you are ready. After 12 months, ask Funamu Support in Chat. A PUDO that Funamu suspended cannot be reopened this way.

Funamu AI can tell you the parcel's status and where it is at your PUDO, not the name of the person. Funamu Operations hold the record of who did each step.

  • What is the last scan for package [ID]?

Give Funamu AI the tracking number. It looks in the parcels of your own PUDOs and tells you the status, the bin and the next stop. A parcel that is not at your PUDOs is not shown to you.

  • Which packages are on this manifest?

Ask Funamu AI for the bag by its manifest code: it lists the bags of your PUDO with the parcels in each.

  • Does this package belong on this manifest?

Ask with the tracking number and the bag's manifest code: Funamu AI checks the bag's parcels. Only a parcel waiting to leave for the bag's destination can be in it.

  • Which shipments are waiting for transfer?

Funamu AI lists your outbound parcels going to another PUDO and your bags that are open or sealed.

  • Which shipments need an inter-city vehicle?

Your outbound parcels going to another PUDO. Funamu Operations book them on departures; Funamu AI cannot book a vehicle.

  • Which delivery partner is collecting these packages?

The hand-over in Hand-overs shows the Delivery Partner assigned to the outbound parcels. Funamu AI does not give out a Delivery Partner's details.

  • Which delivery partner has this shipment?

Once a parcel has left your PUDO you see that it left and where it was going. Who carries it now is known to Funamu Operations; ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • Which PUDO should receive this package?

The parcel's next stop is shown on it in your outbound list, and Funamu AI reads the same. Yes. Funamu sets the route of every parcel when the order is placed: which PUDO it starts from, which PUDO it goes to and how it reaches the customer. The parcel's next stop is shown on your screen; you do not choose it.

  • How many packages are currently in my facility?

The PUDO screen shows the counts: Inbound, Held here and Outbound. Funamu AI reads the same numbers.

  • How much available capacity do I have?

The PUDO screen shows it: the capacity you gave, how many parcels are stored, how many are on their way and how many places are free. Change the capacity in More > Facility profile.

  • Has this customer package arrived?

Give Funamu AI the tracking number. It looks in the parcels of your own PUDOs and tells you the status, the bin and the next stop. A parcel that is not at your PUDOs is not shown to you.

  • Can I release this package?

Only with the customer's 4-digit PIN, in your customer hours, and when the parcel is ready and not held. Funamu AI can tell you if the parcel is at your PUDO; it cannot release it.

  • The customer does not have the OTP. What should I do?

Do not hand over the parcel. Ask the customer to open the order in their Funamu app, where the PIN is shown. After 5 wrong PINs in a row the order is blocked and Funamu Operations step in. If the customer cannot get the PIN, they ask Funamu Support in their app; you never release on a name, a phone number or an ID alone.

  • A rider brought a damaged package. What should I do?

Mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over instead of "Received". It stays the responsibility of the person who brought it, and Funamu Operations are told and decide. If you find damage after receiving, press "Report damaged" on the parcel.

  • This package is not on my manifest.

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told.

  • This package is on my manifest but is missing.

  • This package is going to the wrong destination.

  • I cannot find a package.

Search the tracking number or order number in "Parcels here" or in the Orders tab: the parcel shows its bin and status. If it is not in that bin, check the bins near it and the outbound shelf, then report it. Press "Report missing" on the parcel. Funamu Operations are told at once and investigate from the hand-over and scan records. Do not mark any other parcel in its place.

  • I found an extra package.

Do not accept it. A parcel that is not on your list or whose code the app does not accept is not expected at your PUDO. In a hand-over mark it "Wrong parcel"; it stays with the person who brought it and Funamu Operations are told. If it is already on your shelf, keep it aside and message Funamu Support in Chat with its tracking number.

  • The package barcode will not scan.

Type the code printed under the barcode instead. If the label cannot be read at all, do not guess: keep the parcel aside and message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number.

  • Confirm receipt of this package.

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN. Mark the parcel "Received" in the hand-over and show your PIN; the Delivery Partner enters it in their app. For a Merchant drop-off press "Check and show PIN" and the Merchant enters it. Receipt is recorded only when the server accepts that PIN.

  • Confirm handover of this package.

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN.

  • Confirm receipt of this manifest.

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN.

  • Confirm departure of this shipment.

Funamu AI can prepare "Mark dispatched" for a parcel at your PUDO as a button you tap. Releasing a sealed bag to its driver needs the seal code on the Bags screen.

  • Confirm arrival of this shipment.

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN. Receive the bag with its seal code, or receive the parcels in Hand-overs. That records the arrival, and the customer sees the parcel at your PUDO.

  • Create a transfer.

Funamu AI can open a new bag for a destination PUDO and add a waiting parcel to it, each as a button you tap. Booking the vehicle is done by Funamu Operations.

  • Report package damage.

No. Funamu AI cannot do this. Do it yourself on the PUDO screen: receiving, hand-overs, collections with the PIN, seals and reports are always done by a person. Before accepting: mark it "Damaged" in the hand-over, so it does not become your responsibility. After accepting: press "Report damaged" on the parcel. Keep the parcel aside, do not repair or repack it, and Funamu Operations decide.

  • Report a missing package.

No. Funamu AI cannot do this. Do it yourself on the PUDO screen: receiving, hand-overs, collections with the PIN, seals and reports are always done by a person. Press "Report missing" on the parcel. Funamu Operations are told at once and investigate from the hand-over and scan records. Do not mark any other parcel in its place.

  • Report a misrouted package.

No. Funamu AI cannot do this. Do it yourself on the PUDO screen: receiving, hand-overs, collections with the PIN, seals and reports are always done by a person.

  • Report a facility incident.

No. Funamu AI cannot do this. Do it yourself on the PUDO screen: receiving, hand-overs, collections with the PIN, seals and reports are always done by a person.

  • Contact support.

Open the Chat tab and message Funamu Support. Give the order number or tracking number and what happened, and send photos if they help. Funamu replies within 24 hours.

  • What is my facility capacity?

The PUDO screen shows it: the capacity you gave, how many parcels are stored, how many are on their way and how many places are free. Change the capacity in More > Facility profile.

  • What is my facility performance?

Funamu does not calculate a score or a rate for a PUDO. The Company workspace > Reports counts, for the dates and PUDO you choose, the hand-overs by status, the parcel decisions (received, missing, damaged, wrong parcel), the parcels by status and the exceptions open and resolved.

  • How many packages did we process today?

Company workspace > Reports counts hand-overs and parcels for the dates you choose; set both dates to today. Funamu AI does not have this count.

  • How many packages are awaiting pickup?

Open the PUDO: "Parcels here" shows the parcels ready for collection.

  • How many packages are awaiting transfer?

The "Outbound" count on the PUDO screen. Funamu AI reads the same number.

  • How much did my facility earn today?

Open the PUDO > Earnings: the balance not yet paid out and each amount credited, newest first. Only an admin sees earnings. A company admin sees every PUDO in the Company workspace. Funamu AI can read your payouts, not a total for one day.

  • What are my pending payouts?

Funamu AI lists your payouts with their status; the same list is under Request Payout.

  • Why was money deducted?

The only deduction is Funamu's handling commission, taken when a fee is credited. For anything else, ask Funamu Support in Chat.

  • What are my current discrepancies?

Funamu AI lists your open hand-over exceptions: parcels marked Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel that Funamu Operations have not yet decided.

  • Which staff members are currently active?

Company workspace > Workers lists each worker and whether their access is active. The app does not show who is signed in right now.

  • Which staff member processed this package?

Each recorded step keeps the account that did it. A company admin sees who decided each hand-over in Company workspace > Hand-overs.

  • Which shipments require attention?

The Orders tab lists the parcels that need your next action. Funamu AI combines inbound parcels, parcels waiting too long and open exceptions.

  • What should I process next?

Start with hand-overs waiting for you, then customers at the counter, then parcels past their expected time, then bags for the next departure. The Orders tab lists them.

  • What needs to leave the facility today?

Your outbound parcels and sealed bags, and the bookings on today's departures on the PUDO screen.

  • What needs to arrive today?

The parcels under "Inbound". Funamu AI cannot promise when they arrive.

  • What operational problems require attention?

Open exceptions, parcels under "Delayed or overdue here", missed dispatches, held parcels, and requests under "Funamu needs your input" and "Customer help requests".

What Funamu AI may do25
  • What can Funamu AI do?

Funamu AI answers from this Help Center, and reads your own PUDOs: parcels inbound, held and outbound, stored parcels and how long they waited, bags, hand-over exceptions, payouts, your organization, a PUDO's capacity, what still stops a PUDO from being closed, and the status of your identity verification. It can prepare five actions as a button for you to tap: mark a parcel sorted, held or dispatched, open or pause the PUDO, move a parcel to a bin, open a new bag, and add a parcel to a bag.

  • Can the AI scan a package?

No. Funamu AI cannot do this. Do it yourself on the PUDO screen: receiving, hand-overs, collections with the PIN, seals and reports are always done by a person.

  • Can the AI receive a package?

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN.

  • Can the AI release a package?

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN.

  • Can the AI confirm a handover?

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN.

  • Can the AI create a manifest?

It can prepare "Open a new bag" for a destination PUDO as a button. Funamu AI never does it by itself. It shows a button for the same action as the screen; the action happens only when you tap it, and the server checks it like a tap on the screen.

  • Can the AI modify a manifest?

It can prepare adding a waiting parcel to an open bag, as a button you tap. It cannot remove a parcel or seal a bag.

  • Can the AI confirm manifest departure?

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN.

  • Can the AI confirm manifest arrival?

No. Funamu AI never confirms that a parcel changed hands. Only a PIN does that: the PIN the receiver shows in Hand-overs, at a bag or at a drop-off, or the customer's collection PIN.

  • Can the AI create a transfer?

It can open a bag and add parcels to it as buttons you tap. It cannot book a vehicle or a departure.

  • Can the AI report package damage?

No. Funamu AI cannot do this. Do it yourself on the PUDO screen: receiving, hand-overs, collections with the PIN, seals and reports are always done by a person.

No. Funamu AI cannot do this. Do it yourself on the PUDO screen: receiving, hand-overs, collections with the PIN, seals and reports are always done by a person.

  • Can the AI contact support?

No. You message Funamu Support yourself in the Chat tab.

  • Can the AI access customer information?

No. It sees what you see: parcels and their status, never a customer's phone number, address or payment.

  • Can the AI access merchant information?

No, beyond the merchant name shown on a parcel.

  • Can the AI access delivery-partner information?

No. It does not give out a Delivery Partner's details.

  • Can the AI access financial information?

It can read your own payouts if your role may see them. Only within your own access: the PUDOs you can reach and what your role may see. A worker's assistant cannot see earnings or another PUDO.

  • Can the AI manage staff?

No. Workers are managed by an admin in Company workspace > Workers.

  • Can the AI change facility settings?

Only one: it can prepare "Open for parcels" or "Pause intake" as a button you tap. It cannot change the profile, hours, capacity or payout accounts.

  • Which AI actions require confirmation?

All of them. Funamu AI never does it by itself. It shows a button for the same action as the screen; the action happens only when you tap it, and the server checks it like a tap on the screen.

  • Which AI actions require additional authorization?

None beyond your own access. An action Funamu AI prepares works only if your role and tasks allow the same action on the screen at that PUDO.

  • Which AI actions are read-only?

Everything except the five prepared actions: parcels, stored parcels, bags, exceptions, payouts, your organization and the Help Center answers are read only.

  • Which AI actions are prohibited?

Receiving, releasing, any hand-over decision, entering a PIN or a seal code, reporting damage or loss, payouts, workers, the profile, and anything at a PUDO that is not yours.

  • View facility capacity

Yes. It reads the counts of parcels inbound, held and outbound. It can read and answer, but it changes nothing.

  • View package status

Yes. For parcels at your own PUDOs. It can read and answer, but it changes nothing.

  • View shipment status

Yes. For parcels and bags at your own PUDOs. It can read and answer, but it changes nothing.

  • View earnings

It reads your payouts, if your role may see them. The full list of amounts credited is on the PUDO screen > Earnings.

  • View payouts

  • View performance

Funamu does not calculate a score or a rate for a PUDO. The Company workspace > Reports counts, for the dates and PUDO you choose, the hand-overs by status, the parcel decisions (received, missing, damaged, wrong parcel), the parcels by status and the exceptions open and resolved.

  • View staff activity

No. Funamu AI reads your organization, not what each worker did. An admin sees hand-overs by worker in the Company workspace.

Funamu AI records15
  • Are AI actions recorded?

Every action is done by your own tap on the same endpoint as the screen and is recorded with your account, the PUDO, the parcel or bag and the time, like any other action. The Funamu AI conversation is kept with your account.

  • Can I see actions performed by the AI?

Funamu AI performs nothing by itself. What you tapped is in the conversation, under Funamu AI > history, and its result is on the parcel or bag.

  • Can a facility manager audit AI actions?

An admin sees the result of every action on the parcels, bags and hand-overs of the company, whoever did it. The app has no separate list of "assistant actions", because each is the person's own action.

  • Can a company admin audit AI actions?

An admin sees the result of every action on the parcels, bags and hand-overs of the company, whoever did it. Funamu Operations hold the full action log.

  • Is the requesting user recorded?

Yes. Every action is done by your own tap on the same endpoint as the screen and is recorded with your account, the PUDO, the parcel or bag and the time, like any other action. The Funamu AI conversation is kept with your account.

  • Is the affected package recorded?

Yes. The action names the parcel it changed.

  • Is the affected shipment recorded?

Yes. The action names the parcel or bag it changed.

  • Is the affected manifest recorded?

Yes. Opening a bag or adding a parcel names the bag.

  • Is the affected facility recorded?

Yes. Every action names the PUDO.

  • Is the action timestamp recorded?

    Yes. With the server's time.

  • Can AI actions be reversed?

Like the same action on the screen: a parcel can be moved to another bin or taken out of an open bag, and the PUDO can be opened again. A step that moved a parcel on is corrected only by Funamu Operations.

  • What happens if an AI action fails?

It tells you that it failed and why, in the server's own words. Nothing is reported as done unless the server confirmed it.

  • What happens when the AI lacks permission?

It says it cannot do that and nothing is changed. Only within your own access: the PUDOs you can reach and what your role may see. A worker's assistant cannot see earnings or another PUDO.

  • What happens when a business rule blocks the action?

The server refuses it and Funamu AI shows the server's reason, for example that the parcel is not at this PUDO or the bag is not open.

  • Can an AI action be disputed?

Yes, like any action. Message Funamu Support in Chat with the order number or the payout and what you think is wrong. Funamu Operations check the records once and tell you the result.

Handovers and PINs5
  • How is a handover confirmed?

Every handover in Funamu is confirmed by a PIN. The person RECEIVING the parcel opens it in their Funamu app and reads out a 4-digit PIN; the person HANDING IT OVER enters it. Only then does the parcel change hands. A PIN works once, expires after 15 minutes, locks after 5 wrong tries and stops working if either person is changed. Funamu records the time and, when the phone gives it, the location of both steps.

  • How do I receive a parcel?

From a Delivery Partner: they start a Handover, you check each parcel and read them your PIN. From a merchant or a customer: tap "Check and show PIN" on the drop-off or return and read the PIN. A scanned or typed parcel code alone no longer takes a parcel in.

  • How do I hand a parcel over?

Ask the person taking it to show the PIN in their app and enter it on the parcel, bag or return. Without the right PIN the parcel stays with you.

  • How do sealed bags work now?

Releasing: scan the seal and enter the driver's PIN. Receiving: scan the seal first; a matching seal shows your PIN, which the driver enters.

  • How do intercity parcels work now?

Loading: the Delivery Partner taps "Show loading PIN"; enter it with the bag seal. Arrival: tap "Check and show PIN" and read it to the Delivery Partner, who enters it.

Identity check, closing a PUDO, workers and alerts21
  • Why can I not open my PUDO?

A PUDO can be switched to Open only when three things are true: Funamu has approved your identity photos (More > Identity verification); you have not closed the PUDO under More > Close a PUDO (reopen it there first); and Funamu has not suspended it. The app tells you which one applies.

  • How do I verify my identity as a PUDO Partner?

Open More > Identity verification. Choose your document and add the photos: A Ugandan National ID (front and back). If you are not Ugandan: your passport photo page, or a refugee ID issued in Uganda (front and back). Always with a clear photo of your face. Then press "Send for review". Funamu Operations compare the photos and approve, reject or ask for new ones, with a reason you can read on the same screen. Only an admin of the PUDO can do this.

  • Who can see my identity photos?

Only the admins of your PUDO and the Funamu Funamu workers who review partners in your city. Photos open through private links that expire after a few minutes, and each time a worker opens them it is recorded with their name. Customers, Merchants, Delivery Partners and your own workers never see them. Funamu does not store the ID number.

  • How long does Funamu keep my identity photos?

Photos of a rejected submission, and of one you started but never sent, are deleted after 30 days. Photos of an approved submission are kept while you are a PUDO Partner. The decision and its history are always kept.

  • My PUDO was open before identity verification started. Do I have to do anything?

It stays open: nothing is switched off. But the next time you press "Closed", you can open it again only after your identity is approved. Send your photos now so this never stops you.

  • Does one identity check cover all my PUDOs?

Yes. The check is of the PUDO Partner, sent by an admin. One approved submission covers every PUDO of the partner or company.

  • Is the identity check an official verification of my ID?

No. It is Funamu's own review by a member of staff, who compares your face photo with your document. Funamu does not check the document with NIRA or any other authority.

  • What is the difference between pressing "Closed" and closing a PUDO?

"Closed" on the PUDO screen is a pause: no new parcels are sent, and you press "Open" when you are back. Closing a PUDO (More > Close a PUDO) is for stopping for good: it is allowed only when nothing is left there, and the PUDO then cannot be switched to Open until you reopen it, which you can do yourself for 12 months.

  • What stops me from closing a PUDO?

The PUDO is still Open; parcels are on their way to it, stored there or waiting to leave; a hand-over is waiting for a decision; a payout is being sent; or, for a single PUDO, the balance is large enough to pay out. More > Close a PUDO lists exactly what is still open. Nothing can skip this list, and nothing is deleted to clear it.

  • Can a worker close a PUDO or see identity photos?

No. Only an admin can close or reopen a PUDO, send identity photos, see earnings or manage workers.

  • Why are customers no longer offered my PUDO?

One of four reasons: it is full (parcels stored plus parcels on their way have reached the capacity you gave), it is set to "Closed", you closed it under More > Close a PUDO, or Funamu suspended it. The PUDO screen shows your capacity numbers.

  • My PUDO is full. How do I get parcels again?

Places free up by themselves as customers collect and parcels are handed over. If you really have more room, raise the capacity in More > Facility profile. Parcels already on their way to you are not turned back.

  • How do I add a photo of a damaged parcel in a hand-over?

In Hand-overs, mark the parcel Damaged or Wrong parcel, write what is wrong, and press "Add photo". You can add up to 3 photos for a parcel, and only before you press "Confirm handover".

  • Who sees the photos I add to a hand-over?

You, the other party of that hand-over, and Funamu Funamu workers for the city. They open through private links that expire after a few minutes. Customers and Merchants never see them.

  • How do I download my company report?

Company workspace > Reports: choose the PUDO and the dates, then press "Download as a file (CSV)". In a web browser the file is saved; on a phone the share sheet opens so you can save or send it. Only a company admin can download it.

  • What does "seal rejected" mean on a bag?

The seal code entered at your PUDO did not match the code recorded when the bag was sealed. The bag is refused, nobody can try again with another code, and Funamu Operations are told at once. Keep the bag closed and wait for Operations.

  • How many parcels can I receive in one batch?

Up to 200. Each parcel is checked on its own, so one wrong code does not stop the others.

  • Can I charge a customer who collects late?

No. There are no storage fees (report 0224): collection is free for 7 days, then the parcel goes back to the merchant. Never take cash from a customer.

  • How long is a worker invitation valid?

Seven days. If the person has not accepted in the PUDO app by then, send a new invitation.

  • Can I remove my own access, or the last admin?

No. You cannot revoke your own access, and the last admin of a PUDO or company cannot be removed, so someone can always manage it.

  • How do I switch parcel and payout alerts on or off?

In the Chat tab, open the alert settings and switch each kind on or off for your own account: chat messages, parcels on their way and hand-overs waiting, and payouts (admins).

Intercity PUDOs and your Funamu contacts11
  • What is an intercity PUDO?

A PUDO that Funamu designated to send and receive parcels between cities. A PUDO is Intracity (parcels inside its city), Intercity (parcels between cities) or Both. A city can have several intercity PUDOs.

  • How does my PUDO become an intercity PUDO?

On the PUDO screen press "Ask Funamu to change this" and choose Intercity or Both. Your PUDO Partner Officer approves or refuses it. Nothing changes until they decide.

  • Which intercity parcels come to my PUDO?

Only parcels on the routes Funamu assigned to your PUDO, for example Kampala to Masaka. Your PUDO Partner Officer assigns routes from the ones Funamu supports. Another PUDO in your city can hold the same route.

  • How do I record an intercity parcel at my PUDO?

On the PUDO screen, each parcel under "Leaving for another city" and "Arriving from another city" shows a button for its next step: Received from the merchant, Loaded onto the vehicle, Vehicle left, Arrived here, Handed on. Press it when that step has really happened.

  • Why does loading ask for a pickup code?

So the parcel goes only to the Delivery Partner who is carrying it. Ask them for the six-digit code in their app and enter it. A wrong code is refused, and a parcel nobody has accepted cannot be loaded at all.

  • Can I hand an intercity parcel to any Delivery Partner?

No. The parcel can be loaded only once a Delivery Partner has accepted it, and only for that partner, shown on the parcel. If someone else must carry it, a Delivery Partner Officer reassigns it first.

  • Why does my PUDO screen look different?

It is an intercity PUDO, so its screen opens with the intercity dashboard: your routes with their days and departure times, the parcels leaving for another city, and the parcels arriving from another city. An ordinary PUDO does not show this.

  • How do I know who collects an intercity parcel?

Each parcel under "Leaving for another city" shows the Delivery Partner who accepted it, or "No Delivery Partner has accepted it yet". Hand the parcel only through the hand-over in the app.

  • How do I chat with my Funamu Partner Officer?

Open the Chat tab, press New chat (on a phone, the round + button) and choose "Chat with your Partner Officer". It is one chat that stays open. It reaches the Funamu partner officer for your city; if your city has none yet, the City Manager. They are alerted when you write, and you are alerted when they reply.

  • How do I chat with my Ward Manager?

Open the Chat tab, press New chat (on a phone, the round + button) and choose "Chat with your Ward Manager". It reaches the Funamu Ward Manager who covers your ward; if your ward has none yet, the City Manager sees it. It needs your ward to be on record.

  • Can I still contact Funamu Support?

Yes. "Chat with Support" under New chat in the Chat tab starts a conversation with Funamu Support, as before. Use your Partner Officer for matters about your account and daily work in your city, and Support for general help.

Parcels from merchants in your city3
  • Who brings parcels to my PUDO from merchants in my city?

A vehicle registered by Funamu on an intracity route that holds the merchant's ward and your ward. The first registered vehicle to accept carries the parcel, and you receive it with the normal hand-over scan.

  • Why are customers not offered delivery to my PUDO?

Besides the PUDO being open and having room, delivery to it needs an active route through your ward with at least one registered vehicle from the merchant's ward. If there is none, checkout offers the customer another PUDO or door delivery. Ask your PUDO Partner Officer in Chat.

  • How long do parcels from merchants in my city take to reach me?

Usually the same day, 1 to 4 hours after the merchant has the order ready. Parcels going the same way travel together.

Starting a chat, message alerts and your PUDO's picture7
  • How do I start a new chat?

Open the Chat tab and press New chat (on a phone, the round + button at the bottom right). It lists the chats you can start: Funamu AI, Funamu Support, your Partner Officer and your Ward Manager. Chats about an order, a delivery or a parcel still start from that order.

  • Where are my Funamu AI conversations?

Yes. The Chat tab lists your Funamu AI conversations together with your other chats, marked "AI". Press the "Funamu AI" filter to see only those. Opening one continues that conversation.

  • How do I turn message alerts on or off?

Open the Chat tab and press the bell at the top. It shows your message alerts for this app: you can turn alerts for new messages on or off, and allow alerts on this device.

  • Why does Chat look different on a laptop?

On a laptop or desktop the Chat tab shows your list of chats on the left and the chat you open on the right. On a phone or tablet a chat opens on its own screen, with a back arrow to the list.

  • How do I add a profile picture for my PUDO?

Open More. "Profile picture" is at the top: press "Upload a picture" and choose a photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP). Press "Change picture" to replace it, or "Remove" to delete it.

  • Who sees my PUDO's profile picture?

Customers, merchants, Delivery Partners and Funamu staff who chat with your PUDO. There is one picture for your PUDO organization; every PUDO station of it shows the same one. A photo of the merchant front helps customers recognise the place.

  • How do I remove my PUDO's profile picture?

Open More, and under "Profile picture" press "Remove", then confirm. People you chat with see the standard icon again. You can upload a picture again at any time.

Photos in chats8
  • How do I send a photo in a chat?

Open the chat and press the camera button beside the message box. Choose a photo from your camera or gallery; you can add up to 4 photos to one message, with or without text. JPEG and PNG photos only. Videos, documents and voice notes cannot be sent.

  • Which chats can I send photos in?

In merchant chats (after a paid order), chats about a parcel or delivery, Support chats, and chats with your Partner Officer or Ward Manager. Funamu AI chat has no photo messages.

  • How do I open a photo someone sent me?

A photo shows as a small picture in the chat. Tap it to open it full screen; "Enlarge" makes it bigger and you can scroll around it. "Close" returns to the chat.

  • How do I report a photo?

Open the photo and press "Report photo". You can say what is wrong with it. Funamu staff look at it and can remove it from the chat. The sender is not told who reported it. Photos are not checked automatically, so reporting is how Funamu learns about a bad one.

  • Why does a photo say "Photo removed by Funamu"?

Funamu staff took that photo down after it was reported. It is hidden from everyone in the chat. The rest of the chat stays as it was.

  • How many photos can I send?

Up to 4 photos in one message, and up to 20 photos in one chat in a day. When you reach 20, the app says so and you can send more the next day. Text messages are not limited by this.

  • Who can see the photos I send?

Only the people in that chat, and Funamu staff who have access to it. A photo is a private file: it opens through a short-lived link made for the person looking at it, and cannot be found by anyone else.

  • Does a photo in a chat confirm a pickup, a handover or a delivery?

No. A photo in a chat is only a message. Pickup, handover, collection and delivery are confirmed only in their own steps, with their own proof.

Handover PINs and failed deliveries4
  • How do I receive parcels from a Delivery Partner now?

Open the waiting handover, mark each parcel Received, Missing, Damaged or Wrong parcel (a note for Damaged and Wrong), then press "Confirm check and show PIN". Read the PIN to the Delivery Partner; they enter it in their app. Only then are the parcels recorded as yours, and only the ones you marked Received. A handover PIN is 4 digits, works once, expires after 15 minutes, and stops working after 5 wrong entries or if the handover is cancelled or the person is reassigned. Funamu stores only a scrambled copy, never the PIN itself. Never send a PIN in a chat or message.

  • How do I hand a parcel to a Delivery Partner?

Start the handover to them. They check the parcels and read you a PIN from their app; enter it under the handover and press Confirm with PIN. The parcel leaves your care only when the PIN is accepted.

  • Why was I told a parcel is coming to my PUDO?

A delivery failed and your PUDO is the nearest one that can take it. The Delivery Partner is bringing it; receive it with the handover PIN as usual. The customer collects it later with their delivery PIN.

  • Does a storage fee mean the customer can take the parcel?

There are no storage fees any more. The parcel is released only when you enter the customer's delivery PIN within the 7-day collection window; a payment never releases a parcel.

Handling Fee, 7-day collection and no storage fees3
  • What does my PUDO earn now?

One kind of fee: the Handling Fee, for each merchant parcel your PUDO handles. The City Manager sets it in bands of weight, volumetric weight and item value, with one schedule for PUDOs registered as intercity and another for every other PUDO. Funamu keeps its 20% handling commission; your PUDO keeps the rest. The PUDO collection charge is gone.

  • Can I charge a storage fee?

No. There are no storage fees of any kind. A customer collects free for 7 days; after that the parcel is expired for collection and goes back to the merchant automatically. Never take money from a customer.

  • What if a customer comes after the 7 days?

Verify pickup refuses the PIN: the collection window has ended and the parcel is going back to the merchant. Hand it to the Delivery Partner assigned to the return.

Transaction Fee and your statement2
  • What is the Transaction Fee?

A withdrawal below UGX 500,000 has a UGX 999 Transaction Fee; UGX 500,000 or more is free. The fee is taken from your Funamu balance on top of the amount, so you receive the full amount you asked for (UGX 5,000: UGX 5,999 leaves your balance; UGX 100,000: UGX 100,999; UGX 499,999: UGX 500,998; UGX 500,000: UGX 500,000).

  • How does a withdrawal show on my statement?

As "Transaction Fee (withdrawal)" with no order number, and "Balance carried forward after a partial payout" for what stays in your balance. A failed withdrawal shows "Transaction Fee returned (withdrawal failed)". None of these is a parcel's earnings.
